Topic: RE: Back in the Saddle.... Again!
Hi Diane!
Right there with ya babe! I made TERRIBLE food choices over the holidays. Thank goodness it is out of the house now! And today is pay day so I'm going to the store and stocking up on good food. And I'm back to the gym today too. A good fresh start for the new year! I managed to gain 3 pounds over the holidays and that scared me. I need to get back with the program!

Holly,
Yeah, we all knew we were in this for life, that having WLS wasn't a quick fix. Last Christmas was so much easier, still a fairly fresh post-op and I hadn't experimented with a lot of food by then, so I was cautious. This year threw caution to the wind, baby!
Today will be a much better day. I actually return to work today, I have been out of the office since December 21. I will be busy the rest of this week, catching up for being out. Which probably means I will have less time to search out food
I am bringing healthy snack and healthy meals to work and lots of water.
Good luck today!!

Good for you for being responsible to know that you made the choices to eat poorly. I would love to blame everything else other than me but it all boils down to personal choice. I was supposed to try to lose weight over the holidays because I am having knee surgery next week, but I ended up gaining a couple of pounds.
As of tomorrow, I am back to protein and no white carbs. The lifelong battle...
Topic: Back in the Saddle.... Again!
The last few weeks have been interesting, to say the least. I have found myself making bad.. no, terrible.. food choices. The food choices were not becauses I was busy and had to grab something quick, they were deliberate and planned food choices. I was eating cake for breakfast... cake for lunch.. cake for dinner, chips here and there. I have felt terrible, bloated, weighed down, miserable actually. So today, I told myself I was going to focus on protein, drink more water, get back to the basics. Well, no success. I made better food choices, much less crap because all that stuff is out of the house, but I managed to dump on Cheerios and milk this afternoon. I was craving the carbs so badly. And still am. I ate cheese and chips for dinner. Tomorrow is a new day. I will wake up with a happy pouch and my promise to my pouch is to be good to it. I will focus on protein and if I must have carbs I will make good choice, like vegetables!
Thanks for letting me confess!!

Topic: RE: Happy New Year everyone
Right back at ya, Carla! Best wishes for the BEST YEAR EVER!
I've fallen off track at the gym since we were out of town, holidays, etc. So, back at it for me. Plus, I need to get control of some bad eating habits that I've developed lately. So I'm planning a major "back on track" plan for this week!
Hopefully this new year will find us all healthy, happy, and really motivated!

Topic: DUMPING and FREEZING
I have nothing planned but to chill out. I have a bunch of bookkeeping to get done in the next 21 days and I will probably start today... and of course that leads to Income Tax Paperwork. I hope to get it knocked out this month.
last night I got out, and had a couple of sips of root beer from my son while roller skate, me skating, not him.. then we went out to dinner and I had a sweet tea and pizza with white flour and then I got home and started sucking down an orange pop with a tiny chocolate chip cookie.
OMG
I was dumping so bad I thought my heart was going to explode.. bad bad bad choices..
I sucked down 3 slices of cheese and a 1/4 cup of plain almonds and 20 oz of unsweetened tea to get my system rebooted.
while I was dumping, I thought I was going to sweat to death, first indicator that I am dumping now days. and then once I was stabilized, I was freezing to death. it is so freaky.. my body temperature is indicative of my blood sugar. if I am too cold, it is too low, and I need sweets, if it is too high, I am too hot and I need protein. what a freaking PITA!

Acutally I think that is a local thing for my husband's family, the true boxing day, I have heard in the rest of the world, is the day after christmas when really hoity toity rich people would box of the toys that were from last year and give them away to the poor kids, and make room for the new stuff. but that could also just be a wives tale that only applies to our family heehee I am so bad. snicker.
