Happy New Year back to you all.
Sorry this is late - I was in the air at midnight, new years eve and then our laptop got stolen so this is my first oportunity to get back on the board - I feel lost without it (how sad am I!!!)
Here's to a year that brings all that you all that you want it to and a continued walk into freedom and life in all it's fullness.

Hugs, Holly
Know that I will be thinking of you, even if you aren't on the board posting. Try to get back to us as soon as you can, rest and recover and be kind to yourself.
Looking forward to hearing how dramatic your recovery and new life is. Hopefully for you this will be the end of a long journey.

Sorry you were feeling so rough. Hope you are feeling better now.
Mindyou, a small price to pay for all that's been gained

In Britain, there are two traditions for boxing day and people will argue about which is correct - I have no idea!
The first is that it was the day when the Queens 'boxing' matches took place.
The second is the day when the Queen filled boxes with coins which were given out to the poor.
Take your pick. Personally I like Andi's research on Womens day...

I want to wish everyone a productive new year.
I hope to accept myself the way that I am, especially the way that I look because I am probably stuck with what I have for a while.
I am hoping that with new knees, I will be able to get more active than I have been because that has been my goal from the beginning. The bypass was done only to get more active, now total knee replacement for the same reason. Who would have thought that it would take so much surgery to get out walking in the woods?
I won't be around for a while I guess, the recovery for this surgery is brutal I hear, so I anticipate that I won't be posting for a while...

Trish,
It is so much easier to do it when I'm not all addicted to carbs again!! Plan is to beat the carb monster this weekend with the 5 day pouch test. By Monday am, I should feel as good as new.

Karen,
This weekend I am going to work on starting the 5 day pouch test ... again! I feel so much more in control when I do liquids for a few days. No food decisions need to be made, just which flavor protein drink. It really helped me to get to goal and should be able to knock off the 5 lbs I packed on.

Deanna,
I find it so hard to get back on track. Today, some better food choices, but I still dipped into the chocolate and did not drink as much water as I should have. So goal for tomorrow is to get in 64 oz of water and avoid chocolate and other candies. I guess it's baby steps for the next few days for me.

Right there with you all! Sounds like we all know what to do...so let's dust ourselves off and start anew...remember changing one bad habit at a time makes it easier to stick to. For me now more sweets...then I will move onto the dreaded white carbs!

Confessions of eaters!! I,too, did horrible over the holidays! I gained 3-4 pounds!! It scared me!! My sons girlfriend brought over half a blueberry pie last night and when I get home it is going in the trash!! I feel so bad that I don't dump on anything! So by choice I try to stay away from all those sweets!!! But it just didn't work that way over the holidays!!
I don't even remember eating a descent meal or a good meal for me! I think I snacked on junk the whole time I was off work, too! I have been off since the 21st and am back to work today and trying really hard!!
So my new years resolution is to get back on track and get to my gosl weight..hopefully!! Am going to really try hard!!
