(((((GREAT BIG HUGS)))))) Wouldn't ya know I'm in a similar state of mind! My son, 26yrs old just discovered that his girlfriend of 10 years has NEVER been faithful to him and has brought the two children ages 9 and 3 with her for her extra activities. We all realized that something was wrong with the 9 year old (girl) but until now couldn't figure it out. Now she is talking and telling everything she wittnessed. Thank goodness she was never touched but she witnessed a lot. Now my son has full custody of the children, lost the house they bought last year, the new car everything he thought he was working for. Now he is broke and living with his sister who is 18 months older than him. He is going to be getting child support but in the mean time he is SSSSOOOO depressed that he can only handle going to work and coming home. Very hard for him to interact with the children and do all that he needs to do to get them and himself back on track.....I thought about taking custody of the children like he is hinting about but when I "fix" the kids and give them back is he going to be able to know what to do from then on? I think the three of them need to learn together. Wow, life sure gives us lots of reason to forget our health!! He too is a very large man ( 6'3" and before winter topped off at 420lbs!) Now he is down 100lbs but gaining due to the stress.......same ole sh*t just another place in the world.....
I too can eat anything without dumping...darn carbs! Today is day 3 and I am down 5lbs already. The first day was tough, yeaterday was much better because I brought some warm boullion for lunch. That seemed to calm me down. I also learned that if I get the carb. withdrawls then eating a small piece of melon or orange will take away the headache and dizziness. It worked!
I wish you the best for you and your son. I didn't think my first message was going to be so theraputic. Thanks for sharing Karen! These boards really do support us when we need them to! Thank you for being there!
Your health is MOST important because without US our children would be worse off. WE can't fix their lives but we can be here to listen. The grandkids need us in our most healthy state too.
Take care!

Happy Wednesday!
Yes, I am delirious...probably from my morning latte. What life would be like without lattes... scary thought
so I am not going to think about it anymore. My goal for this week had been to hit the gym 5 days and do at least 5 minutes of cardio each visit. I am pleased to announce the first two days are behind me and later this afternoon I probably won't be able to lift my arms.
On Monday, I used the treadmill for 30 minutes and then worked on the lower body. By late yesterday, I could feel it in my thighs and my glutes. Yesterday, I did another 30 minutes and then did upper body. Today is just a cardio
and then repeat Monday and Tuesday for Thursday and Friday. I didn't use heavy weights and on some of the machines I was on the lowest settings (I am such a weakling!!
), but boy, can I feel it.
Wishing everyone a great day!!
Diane

Hi Elena!
Glad to hear everything worked out for you again! I know how hard it is to fall off the wagon! I'm about to go back and ask my sister for my fat pants back!!!
I have gained probably close to 5 poiunds back since the holidays!! I hate those carbs! I also hate the fact that I can eat ANYTHING and not dump!!!
I still haven't had the willpower to try the 5 day pouch test! Sure would love to try it! The beginning of this year so far has sucked for me so bad!!
I am 58 years old trying to take my grandkids away from their worthless mom and my son got sent to prison for owing so much in back child support for the 4 kids he has,but won't work! We're trying to get 2 of them 2 & 4 years!!
Then the company my husband drove truck for went bankrupt and ripped us off for $1500!! So I just nerve~~stress eat!! I think I worked myself into an ulcer now....go to see the Dr. on Thursday to find out!
But we'll all here with advice and help each other still. I really appreciate everyone on here!
((((((hugs))))))

Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've posted. Nice to see familiar names....
Anyway, I've had some troubles and am now on the repair end. In Oct. my live in boy friend was laid off and we found ourselves broke, very broke. I realized that I was buying foods that were cheap and that would go around instead of the foods I know I need to succeed. I gained 13lbs. in those 3 months. Now he is back to work and I'm buying what I need again. I fell into the carb trap and old eating habbits. It was really easy to do. At my local support meeting I learned about the 5 day pouch test. www.livingafterwls.blogspot.com/ . It was just what I needed to get myself back on track. Today is day two for me. Last night I would have killed for a bag of chips but I ate a small dish of low fat SF ice cream instead. I really didn't take the carb attack away but I was ok....In the middle of all this I had my 18mo. checkup and was not a happy camper. My DR was great. He wanted me to go to the support group and tell my story. Money does play a large roll in this adventure.
Check out the Living After WLS site. It has a lot of great recipies and information I haven't seen anywhere else.
Thanks for listening all!!!!!
Hope all is well for everyone. Keep plugging along, one day at a time.....

Andi,
Congratulations, sweetie, on letting yourself go and having a great time!!! It's funny what it takes sometimes to remind us we are not the fat girl anymore.
Have a great day!!

I forgot another one - being able to wrap a normal size towel around me and not struggling to wrap a bath sheet around me!!

Great Wow - good for you Andi. Maybe you should consider a career change to hired dancer!!
It's the small things that bring home the wow for me - things like being able to turn over in bed without several manovers or laying in the bath tub wihtout my sides touching the sides (or being squashed up against) of the bath. Being able to bend down and still breath, fit behind a booth, that kind of thing.
Thanks for the opportunity to remember and consider
Topic: a WOW moment after all this time
Yesterday we went to a bar mitzvah for a friend and her son and boy did we have fun with a capital F! I danced all day long, every song, all the time, wtih the kids, without the kids, with the spouse without the spouse. My friend Jackie was my tango partner and people just stared at us because YES i know the mans role as well as the womans role...he he he. As the day was winding down someone on the boys fathers side asks me if I was a hired dancer or an invited guest...imagine that someone thought I could be hired to do what unleashes my soul! I got to thinking, I'm not the fat girl at the party anymore, the two dresses I bought for this shindig didn't fit and I had to wear something that I didn't particularly like because it fit. Today, I'm going out to treat myself to a dress because in two weeks I've got another fun bar mitzvah to attend! What have you done this weekend just for you? What frees your soul? Do you still have moments that WOW you after all this time? Hugs, ANDI
