Topic: RE: Who Inspires You?
I am inspired by my sister who is doing phenomenal on her weight loss journey without surgery. She's got her head in the game and her body is responding beautifully. I am inspired by a few people on OH who continue to support others in a helpful and kind manner without being condescending. On the other hand I do want to b*tch slap someone for her non-supportive and it's always about me attitude. I guess that is why this is a public forum and I need to remember that there are different strokes for different folks and just still be me! ANDI

1. Walked a mile home to pick up from school
2. Did some more of boring updating task at work that I've been putting off. I'm upto the names beginning with p now so not far to go...
3. Am drinking water as I type - to stop putting junk in my mouth from being fed up. It's working and I intend to drink a lake tonight if I have to. I refuse to continue using food as an addition to the life problems I am dealing with and I WILL listen to my logic voice telling me that eating cr@p just makes things worse.
Thanks Andi - I really needed this today. I also couldn't reply straight away and needed to think about what to put down, but I got there in the end

Topic: AGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
How can I gain 2 pounds over night from sitting in ER at hospital all day yesterday - I didn't even eat the cr@p that you can get there. All I ate was protein - no carbs, a skinny latte and tons of water.
What is going on? Ok so I didn't exercise, but honestly, how can my body do that. I'm now 9 pounds up on my lowest weight and I have no idea how it went up. I could deal with it, if it was my bad eating, but I've been so careful counting calories and protein and carbs.
Any suggestions?

P - postive
M - mental
A - attitude
The one thing we can do is choose our outlook on life! Each night i journal my pma's for the day, I must have at least (3) and i can have as many as I can think of. Its great and awesome things that happen to me during the day. Doing this really makes me see things in a new way, if you know you have to be accountable then you really will see the positive things that happen to you.
last nights pma's were as follows:
1. I went to a superbowl party and had good food and good fun
2. MY team won the superbowl
3. my mom found a dress for my sons bar mitzvah and she looks stunning in it
4. I walked from one end of the mall to the other and was quite surprised that it was closer then I imagined it to be OR i'm in better shape then I thought and I did it a few more times with no problem what so ever. I really enjoyed mall walking
5. I found my husband jeans and they were on sale for $8.88 which is just awesome as his size usually only comes from Gap or Banana Republic for like $69 a pair
6. I ate well in the mall and was proud of myself
ok that's what I can think of right now, but there will be more today. Care to share your pma's with me today?

Milk
Drinking whole milk cappuccinos and lattes will use your daily POINTS® Allowance up quickly. Use fat-free or low-fat milk instead, and look for flavored coffees or sugar-free syrups to improve that cup of java.
Make smoothies by blending fat-free milk with low-fat or fat-free yogurt, a banana, frozen strawberries and honey to taste.
Use low-fat milk when making mashed potatoes.
Rice pudding is just as nice made with low-fat milk. Add flavor with cinnamon, and sprinkle the top with nutmeg.
Bread
Instead of serving bread with soup, add a tablespoon of bulgar wheat or a 1/2 cup of brown rice to your homemade recipe.
As a change-up from bread sandwiches, generously fill whole-wheat tortilla wraps with chunks of fresh-cooked chicken, coriander, lettuce and red pepper, adding a teaspoon of low-fat mayonnaise.
Potatoes
Switch to sweet potatoes or yams. Cut up the sweet potatoes and roast in a hot oven for 30 minutes, sprinkled with sea salt and a little olive oil, or lightly boil and mash with a small amount of butter.
Boil some couscous to fluff up and serve with grilled fish or meat.
Filling Fruits
Dried fruits come into their own in the winter months and make excellent after-dinner desserts. Put dried apricots, prunes and pineapple chunks in a pan and cover with a little orange juice. Bring to a boil, then let stand for 20 minutes so the fruit can absorb the juices. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and serve with spoonful of low-fat yogurt.
Poach peeled pears in a low-calorie fruity cordial with one cinnamon stic****il tender. Serve with low-fat or fat-free yogurt.
Cheese
Get into the habit of buying low-fat varieties. Keep a tub of low-fat or fat-free cottage cheese on hand to mix in with fresh fruit or sprinkle with Splenda and cinnamon for a sweet treat.
Sprinkle a teaspoon or two of freshly grated Parmesan over your pasta, a little of its big-hitting flavor goes a long way.
Poultry and Meat
Trim off fat before cooking.
Always roast chicken on a rack in a roasting tin, so the saturated fat drains off.
If you plan to marinate the meat, use lean strips of pork or beef.
When making casseroles, cook them the day before, so as it cools you can skim any fat off the top before reheating.
