All dressed up and feeling pretty. was out at a a 50th wedding anniversary - I wan't there even 5 minutes yet when someone came up to me and rubbed my belly and said "not yet?" Now there is no way they would have known about the upcoming surgery - they thought I was pregnant. And far enough along that rubbing my belly seemed like a good idea!!! I guess this is the opposite of a WOW moment. I was so shocked all I could say is nope - not yet. Good thing surgery is only 10 days away. Kadie

You know... the person that did that is an idiot! Next time you see that person (regardless of how soon post-op you are), walk up to them, casually rub their head, and say "I'm so sorry, it'll be okay." I see it this way.... we can change being fat and all the stuff regarding how we look, but ya just can't change stupid! Don't stress about it, pretty comes from within. I think you're beautiful!

Im so sorry that anyone did that to you. That is an insensitive person, even when I was preganant I never wanted someone coming up to me and touching my stomach. Keep your chin up!!!!!!

I agree with everyone else. NO ONE has the right to touch your body - whatever size you are. I totally disagree when people feel that just because you are pregnant they can touch your belly when normally they wouldn't even dream of doing it! As has been said before - they are the ignorant ones. You are the one doing something to help your body and your health - well done. Do you know this person? Will you see them again? If so, you could always tell them some wild story to explain why you haven't 'produced' a baby!!! Just to embarrase them.....but that's my wild, naughty side coming out. All the best for your WLS. Oh Kadie! That was just a person with very little between the ears. There are many of them out there, but it's best to try to ignore what comes out of their mouths. I'm really sorry that happened to you ... but you are taking steps to improve your body and health. Unfortunately not much can be done for the clueless dolt who asked the stupid question! Blessings ... Dawn

Kadie, gosh I know how you feel. I had someone do that to me a couple of years ago, before I even researched wls. So I know what they were thinking. People can be so mean and rude. I just try to look at like I will never be that low of a person. And someday it will come back on them. I am sorry for your pain, I know it hurts. --Angela
