I had my surgery May 1st. I am still in the hospital due to some minor complications. I had a little internal bleeding that caused my BP to drop & my temp to go up a little. I still can't believe that I am not hungry. I have to force myself to sip, sip, sip all the time so I don't get dehydrated My last meal was Sunday afternoon & I don't care. The worst part has been the gas pains. It is not so easy to just "fart", pardon my language Hope you all do well. Darlene

Well i was a May 1st Baby! It was painful being re-born, BUT... a bit of pain is well worth this new life of happiness and being healthy!! I went into surgery 12:45pm Monday the 1st, got out a bit after 2pm. the only complication was that my BP dropped VERY low! 66/37 i believe was the lowest i remember hearing. i was in recovery until a bit after 7pm that night. they had a really hard time placing an IV, and while i was "Out" they tried in several different places to get a good IV line in. which ended up being in my right wrist. i have always had a hard time with someone placing an IV though. (small rolly veins) Tuesday they removed the NG tube (the one in my nose) and the Foley (urine)... it felt pretty funky when they took the NG tube out... but wow did it feel good to have it out!! I wasn't urinating all day, so DR. O was concerned and ordered up a bunch of blood test to make sure my kidneys were functioning.. which they were.. (thank goodness) i guess i'm just a slow starter maybe.. hahahaha they didn't have me get up for a wal****il late Tuesday night. they had replaced the foley tuesday, and wednesday they took it out for the last time. i was released to go home on Friday the 5th. It felt really good to come home, i was very happy to see my kids!! i was still really swollen from retaining so much water! i believe in the first 24 hours they pumped 5+ bottles of IV fluids in me. at my 1 week post op check, i had No weight loss or gain, i was exactly the same the day before surgery. 242. I got my 42 staples taken out, but he said i had to keep the G-Tube in another week, i was really bothering me, so they cut out the stich and then it felt alot better! he said if i wanted i could come back Friday and have it taken out a few days early, well of course i was game for that!! I went back Yesterday to have my G-tube removed, and OMG it hurt sooo bad!! she said it wouldn't hurt a whole lot, but i had to be that small amount of ppl that the tube gets stuck. the 1st nurse tried a couple times to pull it out, and she couldn't get it, so another nurse came in and she pulled as hard as she could and finally it popped out... (as she stumbled back a little) i cried so hard, i even lost my breath... BUT FYI, the pain was gone almost as fast as it came!! i slept pretty good last night, since i've been home i've only been able to sleep on my right side, but now it feels fairly nice sleeping on my left side, (finally) I'm moving around soo much better now, and i'm mostly standing up straight now. i have to report also that at my Friday appointment, when weighing in i had a 4lb. LOSS!!!!!! i was SOO happy!!! finally the scale is moving! it really did make my day! I find myself so much happier now, i look forward everyday to go for a walk! eating hasn't been a problem, stage 3 so far is going really really good. i Do notice however i need to remember to eat SLOWLY!!! i also find myself burping more, and having a bit more gas than before. my tummy is also pretty vocal!! but i don't really feel hungry! and when i do feel hungry, i know it's a real hunger! I keep myself busy to rid away the head hunger, and it's working pretty good so far! I wish everyone the Best of Luck on their upcoming re-births!!! ~Alison
