1. how are we all doing,
Life has ben very stressful for me over the last couple of years, I'm hoping for a better year to come.  Health is good though after losing weight

2. what is going right in life,
Managed not to gain too much weight back.

3. what is going not so right in life
I'm exhausted all the time, finding it hard to eat right

4. any regrets
Wish I'd done more exercise sooner out

5. would you do it again, knowing what you know now
Absolutely - wish I'd done it sooner - am wondering if I should have had the ds though

6. have you had ps
No

7. if not do you want ps
Desperately

8. what are you eating now
Only things I can't eat are cereal with milk, hot chocolate drink and fizzy drinks.  Other than that anything can pass my lips if I'm not careful :o(  Still trying to eat high protein, low carbs

9. are you at goal
No

10. is this life what you expected
No, I thought it would be very different.  My body is not what I expected with all the extra skin, I thought I'd have much more energy, I though all my problems would be solved by losing weight - I now realise that I was being very foolish thinking that!!!

Hi Ruth!

Miss you guys.

1. great other than sporadic abdominal pain- can't determine the cause.
2. great life.
3. that tummy pain- never know when it will show up.
4. none.  I would do it again in a heartbeat!
5. again & again
6. no
7. yes!
8. whatever I want.  I love berries- raspberries & blueberries especially, roasted almonds, low-fat hummus with baked pita chips.
9.yes- I could lose 10 more pounds, but I am happy.
10. yes and no.  It is better than expected, yet being thin doesn't make everything perfect like I thought it would.

I am trying to figure out how to post a new pic without losing my old profile format.

Hi Darlene

good to see you again.  Not good to hear about the tummy pain...what have they checked for?  Do you have any suspicions of what is causing it?  Hope you get a solution soon.

Looking forward to seeing the new pics.  Sorry can't help you with the profile thing.

Hi everyone.  I lurk around this board because I had my surgery in May 2006 and I like to compare to others.  I was a slow loser compared to all of you - it seemed like so many were losing so much more quickly than I was, it became depressing so I stopped coming to this message board.  I stopped by today and was glad to see this post.  Here is my update:

1. how are we all doing,
I think I'm doing great.  I lost 112 pounds altogether and am now wearing 12's and sometimes 10's.  I never thought in a million years that I would ever fit into a 10.  I have maintained my weight loss for more than a year - something else I never expected in a million years to be able to do.
2. what is going right in life,
Well, as I said I have been able, very suprisingly, to maintain my weight loss; I've also managed to keep my job which is always a worry these days.
3. what is going not so right in life
Not so happy at work but I am still grateful to be employed.
4. any regrets
None, none, none.
5. would you do it again, knowing what you know now
I would do it again every year if I had to.  I am so glad I did this.
6. have you had ps
Yes, I had a tummy tuck and a face lift a year ago.
7. if not do you want ps
I would like to have more but I sure don't know how I would pay for it.
8. what are you eating now
I still eat pretty much the same as I did when I first started eating solid foods.  It's easier, and I can eat more, but I'm still pretty careful.  I have not pushed the sugar envelope, I still have the fear about what will happen if I eat too much sugar.
9. are you at goal
Not my doctor's goal but I'm happy where I am.  He would like me to lose 10 more and I guess I would too, but I haven't tried very hard.  It has been a total novelty to remain the same weight for 15 consecutive months and to actually wear last year's clothes - they aren't too tight!
10. is this life what you expected
I think so.  I think my expectations of what life after WLS would be like were realistic.  I think I was ready to give up the things I thought I couldn't live without and so far, I have.  If I could change anything right now it would be that I would like to have a significant-other but that really has to do more with ME and not so much the WLS.

Start weight:  270
Weight now:  158

I wish you all luck.   It would be nice to see more "May 2006'ers" here because I do think it is helpful to all of us to hear about other people experiences - those who are in your same "group" so to speak.

Hi Karen

good to meet you.  I'm so sorry you felt depressed and left the board - there were lots of slow losers too - me included!!  It was hard seeing others do so well wasn't it, BUT, look at you now girlfriend;  you have done SO well - congrats.  We started off around the same, but you have gone way past me.  I've struggled the whole time, and have gained some, but I'm getting back to it.  Well done to maintaining.

Let's 'hang out' here and see how we can take this board forward :o)  Feel free to post anything - off post is interesting too....

Hi Kat

I alwasy thought life got less busy the older you got, but from the sounds of your life and the way mine is going I'm getting busier by the minute!  Thank goodness we lost weight so are not carrying all that extra around!

The P'butter smoothie sounds yummy - think I'm going to try that one out
