Hey all...

I've gained 10 lbs.!!!!!! I'm so off track. gotta get back on this train...i seemed to have lost my mission here, i have to get back with the program. Cheating too much, for some reason, i've gotten a sweet tooth lately, which I never had before, my tastes have changes so much since surgery. I'm gettin scared, i don't want to go back there!!!!!

I need guidance!!!

Hi Bella

welcome to the club!!  Have a read through some recent posts and you'll see there are a couple of us around who are struggling with the same issues.  So don't think you are on your own here by any means.

Stick around, we'll help each other and get to where we want to go in the end.

Going back to where we came from IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!!  So now is the time to start re-evaluating how you gained 10 pounds and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.  I know you can - you've got this far, you can stop the train and get off before that 10 becomes 20, 30, 40........

Start by tracking what you are eating.  I'm sure you know where you are going astray.  Start with small baby steps and build on success.  Come here often for support and you'll soon see those extra pounds dissappearing again.

Well, first of all I find myself "grazing" at work, so I got rid of all the crap around me I've been eating, hence the "sweet" tooth. I went shopping and bought the stuff I should be eating, so far its been 2 days and i'm doing good. I even feel thinner...  :). i was offered cheesecake with stawberries!!!!!!! I said "no, thank you"   CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? I think most of my problem is "mental", mentally i need to get on track. I gotta keep telling myself..."you feel so good right now, you DON'T want to go back there...NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels...right!

Good luck to you to girl...! I with ya....

YAY!!!!!!!!!!  Bella that's fantastic that you were able to say no to the cheesecake.  I'm don't seem to be able to stop eating lately.  I've got to get rid of the junk food that's around me.  I reach for that instead of having a proper meal, which while I know is not good, haven't stoped doing yet.

At least since wls I'm aware of everything I put in my mouth and don't have unconcious eating now.  All I need to do is make the right choices, why is it so hard sometimes?

Aghhhhh, the story of our lives, and one which we will probably stuggle with for the rest of our journeys.  BUT better to deal with that than never have wls in the first place.

See you again soon

I am right there with you.. singing the song, dancing the dance and partially wondering what did I do this time.

granted, I came back from 6 weeks of motel food with a 10 lb gain, lost 75% of that, then we had the hurricane and 2 weeks of no electricity and stress eating and I am back up again... so I have been drinking drinking drinking and cutting back on portions, one taco or one crepe or one slice of pizza. but a lot of snacking late at night... so more drinking, less snacking..

last night I cut a piece of my 9 year old son's birthday cake and then opted to put it back, I was not really hungry, so I didnt eat it, and he was fine with that. what I would have traditionally done a couple of years ago, I can not let myself get sucked back into. yes - it is his birthday, no I do not need to eat the cake to join in the party.

we fared extremely well. the winds were 90 mph with gusts at 141 (the hurricane core was 5 miles to the east of us, so we were well within the eye and while it was a Cat 2 on the ground, it was nearly a Cat 4 at the second floor of the house.

we had some damage to the house, but nothing significant. about 20 holes in the vinyl siding where debris was drilled in from the winds. we lost some trees, waited two weeks to get a tree service to come give an estimate, now two more weeks for them to actually get out and do the work.

we were with power for 8 days, so we lost everything in the fridge and both the freezer and the deep freeze.  we were prepared, so I cooked up a bunch of cookies with milk and eggs two days before the storm hit, gave the kids lots of munchies during the power outage.

I feel that the economic crisis is a bigger concern... I think that the inconvience that we experienced during post Ike is just a test taste of the hardships that we face in the coming years.  I seriously think that this will make the depression look like a cake walk.
