Psyllium Husk???

Hi everybody, I am doing this colon cleanse that was recommended to me by a friend to just kinda clean out the pipes...it is going really well but then somebody who had RNY about 8 years ago told me that she was told to NEVER take Psyllium Husk...anyone know anythng about this? I was not or don't remember any warnings about it... Thanks, Trish

Hi Trish I haven't heard or read anything regarding this - maybe if you are still in touch with your surgeons office it might be worth giving them a call. Let us know if you hear anything more about it. What is your colon cleanse consisting of?

I just had a nice long discussion with my colon and together we've decided to forgo any type of "cleansing" and the colon said it would try to do it's part to remain clean and cleansed if i do my part and try and eat right.....seems like a decent trade off really. ANDI

I have heard that you need to be really careful because it can swell in our pouches. I would imagine though, that with a well established pouch that you would be able to gauge how much to take given that it will expand. Perhaps try half a dose? Holly
