Yay - I'm still walking...just don't ask me to get up off the floor without rolling over and NOT using my stomach muscles tonight hehe. I really enjoyed the class - before the class started the trainer said 'you look very nervous'...I AM very nervous!!!! But I kept up mostly - there were a few exercises I couldn't do (yet!), but I was pleased with hwo well I did. The others make it all look so easy, but I relaxed a bit when the trainer said that they'd been coming two years! But the best bit of all (and this is sooo mean of me) is that I wasn't the biggest in the class!! Woohoo!!!

Great job, Ruth! I'm so proud of you! I find that I'm most sore the day after strength training so tomorrow you will be hurting probably! But it will be a good hurt and you will feel very proud of yourself ... you should be! You are doing awesome! --Deanna

It is nice to not be the biggest in the room. It is sure a new experience for me as well. I am also 6' tall so I have always been the tallest if not the fattest also. Good for you for feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Are you starting to notice your clothes fitting differently? You may actually gain weight while you gain muscle as it is heavier than fat, but you actually trim down regardless. I love this feeling... I too am proud of you! And you should be so awesomely proud of yourself, it is the first steps that are the hardest and the least likely to happen when we are feeling out of shape. I figure in another month I will be able to hop on this bandwagon also... so look out ! Holly

Saturday and I'm still aching and feeling muscles that I never knew I had!! I'm going to go and do some time on the treadmill tonight for some cardio and see if I can iron out the wrinkles I 'm feeling. My body just wants to stay in bed and not move but that's not going to help me. Deanna, how long after a workout do you rest before working out again? I'm hoping that it will get better each week...

You need to add more protein to your diet to get rid of the ***** acid but i can't remember what kind of acid it is that builds in your muscles when you exercise (i'm going to say lactic but i could be wrong). Muscle tears in increments so it can get bigger (tear is probably not right it splits and that's where the pain comes from) which exercise will do so keep eating high protein meals....maybe a protein shake after you are done exercising or at least some turkey or cheese sticks.
