Happy Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday! Yes, I am delirious...probably from my morning latte. What life would be like without lattes... scary thought so I am not going to think about it anymore. My goal for this week had been to hit the gym 5 days and do at least 5 minutes of cardio each visit. I am pleased to announce the first two days are behind me and later this afternoon I probably won't be able to lift my arms. On Monday, I used the treadmill for 30 minutes and then worked on the lower body. By late yesterday, I could feel it in my thighs and my glutes. Yesterday, I did another 30 minutes and then did upper body. Today is just a cardio and then repeat Monday and Tuesday for Thursday and Friday. I didn't use heavy weights and on some of the machines I was on the lowest settings (I am such a weakling!! ), but boy, can I feel it. Wishing everyone a great day!! Diane

Way to go Diane - I know you are going to see results from all this. I've been home today with my daughter off sick from school. I had planned to use the time to blitz the house, and do loads of stuff, but ended up sitting with her most of the day and then just sitting by myself, reading and gazing out into the garden through the window. Also haven't stopped eating today either aghhhhhh. Very relaxing, but haven't got much done...oh well, there's always tomorrow Back to schedule tomorrow

Well I finally got my butt off the couch and got on my stepper - woohoo!!! I managed 45 minutes without stopping - that's a first for me and I'm very proud of myself. Hopefully that will have got rid of some of the calories from all the cr@p I've been eating today - talk about eating like a pre-op I don't know what got into me today... what is everyone up to this week?

Ruth, Do you find if you are not busy, you know just relaxing like you were yesterday, that you tend to graze more. I have done so much work in the house, both inside and out, over the last few months to keep myself occupied. I have our taxes to pour over this weekend, my husband operates his own business so it can be a chore. But it's a sit at the desk kinda thing which I am not good at. I find at work, when I am not running from one meeting to the next, that I have too much time on my hands and I sit there and think "what can I eat?" When I hear that little voice, I get scared. I usually end up making a latte to feed the voice (the milk fills me up). Diane

I find exactly the same thing. I used to go and have a latte, but had forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me. That is what I am going to do each time I hear the little voice....

7pm (my time ) just had my home made latte with sf starbucks caramel syrup (bought while I was in Dallas - you can't get sf here!). The little voice was calling out for chocolate & candy so I drowned it in hot milk Note to self---I am not going to eat any more tonight

Ruth, Lattes have become my new comfort food. I enjoy one in the early morning, everyone is sleeping and I have a chance to come on OH. I get to just chill out. I actually struck a deal with myself yesterday that if I went to the gym and did cardio and strength training, I could treat myself to a latte before I picked up my son from school. It was nice to sit back in one of the big comfy chairs and just look out the window for a while and do a little reflecting. My sisters have been amused by my need for lattes. When I was in New Hampshire last June, I had to go to Dunkin Donuts to get them. My little sister knew she could find me there every morning, early (before 7 am), and she would actually come by and visit with me. Now my oldest sister was here a couple weekends ago and she got to see me take my latte breaks and now she completely understands that it gives me an opportunity to be with me..just me.. to get that well deserved rejuvenation. That's really interesting Diane, as when I'm sipping my latte, no matter where I am, alone or not, I feel exactly the same way. There is something about sitting and sipping - an extravagance almost. Here's to relaxing, time to ourselves and drinking lattes
