Good monday morning
So how was everyones weekend. I finished up most of my xmas shopping and had a hugh party at my house on Saturday night. We had a blast. Made my homemade spagetti and everyone rode the trolley around to see the lights.. good time was had by all. Sunday I was working on my pc at home. It has been having a lot of problems and I ended up re-formating the hard drive.. darn kids.. go on all those weird sites and messed up my pc. So I am working on putting everything back on the thing. lol.. loads of fun you know.
Got another busy week at work. I cant believe how many calls we have during this month. I am going on vacation for 2 weeks at the end of this week so I am affraid to see what we get when I get back..lol
Hope everyone is having a fantastic week and a great holiday season.
So how are you all doing.,.

Morning Carla
We have a week of shopping planned. We also want to go see some lights and get into the holiday mood.
Life is a mixture of family stress and enjoyment being here (back home). But we'll get through it and I'll try to remember the good and forget the bad (not something I'm very good at)
Trying to shop for my 7 year old with her in tow is stress city!!! Plus trying to find something that she wants - she is asking for a Nintendo DS as that is what her friends want. She has no idea really what one is - so do I search high and low for one (they sell out like hot cakes) or do I try and find something more appropriate for her? At least here they are half the price they are in Britain! And I get to 'share' it in the evenings after she has gone to bed
Not doing too bad food wise, but am not around any scales so have no idea how it is impacting my weight. Perhaps that's a good thing? I'll find out when we get home after Christmas...I hear the 5 day plan calling my name!!!
Thanks Andi
I had her play on one of the display Ds in one of the stores to see how she got on - loved it! One thing though, do they have to always read all the instructions on the games or can they listen to them instead if they have headphones? She may struggle with some of the words if it's just reading.
So now we just have to find a store that has one - they are all sold out so far, but are promising that they will be getting more this week.
Any suggestions for games for her (and me?)
I have my own DS! I spend so much time waiting for kids while they have appointments, and picking up from school that I got my own, and I use it daily.
My all time favorite game is Tetris, with Dr Mario running a close second. When I am feeling virtuous, I will use my Brain Age, Brain Age 2 or Big Brain Academy. Big Brain Academy is more fun, but Brain Age 1 has really helped me with my non-existent math skills.
My kids like Nintendogs, they can experience dog guardianship without the actual dog. You have to look after them, teach them things, and they grow up. One really cool feature is that if someone else with the same program is within 100 they can enter your game. We were on the ferry one time and my kid had someone enter and their dogs played together... very cool.
The kids have other games, I am pretty particular about violence and sex games, and we have found that renting the games was better because often the kids complete the game long before the game wears out.

the nintendogs came with her ds as a package deal and she's got the one where she is the vet for animals that she loves and something called Mama's kitchen which seems to be a winner. I don't play video games that much (or at all) but the brain age sounds interesting...i feel mine starting to atrophy on a daily basis! Hugs, ANDI
Hi Carla
sounds like fun, we just got back from Charlotte NC, I planned the Christmas party for my husbands company. had 3 truckloads of baskets to unpack and set up with my son... LOL it was fun... Just curious how much do you weigh now? I dropped to 120, 121 or 122 give or take a day. I feel great.... (except for this darn sinus infection...LOL) but you know what I mean...
