We are nearer then further on the new year. What do you hope that '08 brings for you? I am planning an '08 bar mitzvah and I've got the wardrobe to prove it. I spent more money on these (4) outfits then I did on my whole post-surgical wardrobe. I do find myself buying from real stores now that I can't get to the Salvation Army (aka Sally's boutique) on discount day! I hope that '08 brings about health and happiness, prosperity and a bit of naughty fun for those that are looking for it or simply need it. Andi

After I lost 100lbs I took my wardrobe into the consignment store and this week I went in and got some new party clothes with the proceeds of that sale. I got some beautiful stuff, a beaded 'flapper' dress, a lovely Carol Little outfit, some sparkly sweaters... I went out the other night with the flapper dress and it was such a good feeling to be all dressed up and looking good. I am looking forward to '08. I think that the healing from the WLS is mostly done (emotional as well as physical) and it is time to get on with the business of life as a 'normal' sized person. I am looking forward to my new knees and the sky is the limit...

New Year is bringing changes for us. My daughter is going to a new school so I've got the getting to know new parents thing. I think I'm more apprehensive than my daughter is! She's really looking forward to it while it is going to be out of my comfort zone. I am hoping that at some point in the new year plastic surgery will come my way, but this may just be in my dreams... I hope that it will bring more happiness & peace in our family. I hope that it will bring more weight loss once I get back to focussing on losing again

do you realize that these parents are not going to know you as the fat mom they are going to see you as the perfectly normal mommy that you are. There will be no stigmas attached to you in this new school, it's a fabulous opportunity for you to get to know people and for them to get to know you on a more equal footing. There is nothing but fun filled expectations for Millie and that's how it should be! Hang in there sugar great things are bound to head your way in '08. ANDI

You are so right. Yes, these mom's will only know me at this weight - wow that takes some getting my head round. I was at the doctors today with Millie and the receptionist there kept on about how amazing I looked and how much weight I'd lost - it was a wonderful feeling.
