Happy halloween
So how did you do with the candy??? I did ok - MUCH better than pre wls, not as good as last year when candy was completely off the menu, I had a few bites.
Now, what to do with that BUCKET of candy that my daughter got from trick or treating. It is away in the cupboard so I can't see it. The trouble is that it is all bite size candy - the easy to pop in your mouth without realising kind.
What strategies are you using to keep on the straight and narrow this year?
I eat a bit of s/f candy... (I still dump)
I put on a black dress and a very cool mask kinda like a mini show girl mask with feathers at the top and glitter and beads draping over my face to my chin... a scarf around my waist and looks like a big bumpy Gypsy...( hiding the drains)... we played scary music, had a strobe light in our "graveyard") and sat outside... it was fun.....
I moaned alittle bit as the kids went through their bags...like I'd die for that heath bar....they tryed giving it to me ...but I refused!! My husband gets mad cause I can eat anything and not dump or get tired!! I bought all low fat snacks this year and had a few comments from the kids at the door...but oh well...that way if I had any leftovers they would be good for me!! At work a gal tired to push off a cookie on me this morning that she had baked last night...then the math teacher next to me gave me a double chocolate filled cookie his wife had baked ....thanked me for letting his kids come to my room to do tests!! Couldn't turn it down,so I put it in my desk drawer and it keeps calling my name... but it can just keep callling...I'm strong!!
Ugh, Halloween candy!!! My favorites are those little fun-size candy bars. This is a total honest admission ... in the past, before surgery, I would buy probably 12 bags of those things and secretly eat my way through probably 5 or 6 bags. Then I'd have enough to hand out to trick or treaters. Sad!
Anyway, this year I bought candy I did NOT like to hand out. And wouldn't you know we only had 7 trick or treaters! So I have a bunch of candy I don't like ... I'm going to give it away somehow. Thank goodness I got the stuff I don't like!!!
My kids went trick or treating and got a bunch of candy but thank goodness there isn't anything in there that is really calling me. I did break down and buy a bag of my favorite candy bars but I only had a couple pieces and then I sent the rest with my husband to work. I don't now how I manage to keep out of it!!! Because it really calls me if it's there! It's torture!

One year I found these packs of little tiny Golden books, and I gave those out instead of candy. I expected to be egged over it , but I was really surprised that the kids loved it. I had kids coming back to get another one for their friend/sister/dead relative... but I haven't been able to find these again. I know someone who gives out toothbrushes and gets egged every year.
My kids went out for an hour and had a ton of fun and came home with lots of candy that I love. I didn't buy any because I knew that I would be out and I didn't want to have any left over... I have had NO willpower lately. I don't dump or have any restrictions except for volume since my surgery and it depends on what I am eating how much I can eat. Unfortunately I can eat a TON of carbs, not so for the dense protein. My friend calls potato chips 'pouch defier's' because they defy our best efforts at willpower if we don't dump.
Does anyone know why some dump and others don't? It seems that this would be something that everyone would get or everyone wouldn't. I haven't made any sense of it yet.
