I am starting the 5 day plan today. I've gotta get this weight shifted. I am posting this to remind myself that I WILL do my best to stick to it and to be accountable to you guys. Day 1 - fluids only - mainly protein shakes (see below). I've already detoxed from caffeine so that part should be ok Here I go - wish me luck Days One & Two: Liquid Protein The first two days are all liquids. You can have as many low-carb protein shakes as you like to satisfy hunger or cravings. In addition drink at least six 8-ounce glasses of water each day. The purpose of all liquids is to break any snacking, grazing or processed carbohydrate habits. In addition the liquids will work to cleanse your system and prepare you for the following three days. Try to reduce your caffeine intake as well, but do not stop caffeine cold turkey or you will feel sick and frustrated potentially losing the desire to continue with the pouch test. If you notice symptoms of carbohydrate withdrawal you can eat a small piece of melon or an orange. You can also try a dose of Emergen-C which should reduce headache, dizziness or cramping from carbohydrate withdrawal.

Hey Ruth, I have been thinking of doing this also. I know that something has to be shaken up in my eating patterns, so maybe I will join you by starting tomorrow. Holly

Hi Ruth! Wow, great minds think alike! I just started the 5 day plan yesterday. So, I'm on day 2 of liquids and I'm amazed that I really haven't been hungry, although I have had a slight headache today. I decided I had to do this because I was gettiing waaaaay too obsessed with those evil carbs. It was NOT good. I'm hoping this gets me back on track to eating better again...I'm so scared to ever regain! I'm wishing you the best of luck! We can do this! Hugs, Bobbie

I have one friend who is doing this with me, but it's great to know we are not alone in this struggle. Let's all do this together and we WILL beat whatever we are dealing with. For me, all my old habits are back with a vengence, snacking being the worse, particularly carbs - they just call my name wheil I'm preparing the evening meal. Bobbie, how are you going? I'm drinking water as we speak (type? ) As you are one day ahead, you can lead the way letting us know how it's going

Hi Ruth! Well, I made it through the first 2 days of all liquids and amazingly enough I'm not craving the carbs as bad anymore. Thank goodness! I'm not even really hungry like I had been getting for a month or two now. I also had to get on the scale (I'm a scale addict) I'm down 4 lbs in 2 days and I drank A LOT of protein shakes...enough that I was never hungry. So, today it's on to the soft protein. It's nice to know that I can get control over myself again, I was getting worried that I was totally losing it yet again and slipping back into all my old snacking habits... How is your day going? I'm excited to see how things go for you!

Hi Bobbie yay you made it! Wekk done on losing 4lbs too. I'v ebeen jumping on the scales too but nothing yet, although I woul dbe surprised if there was any loss yet but I live in hope I too haven't been hungry today and so far have found it ok on protein shakes and water. It is strange that when I as eating food I was hungry but it must have all been head hunger and not true hunger. I must have stopped listening to my pouch. Isn't it great that there are a few of us doing this together. We can spur each other on. So have you stocked up for your day 3?

Thanks Ruth! It is awesome that there are a few of us doing this, makes it a little more fun having others to talk about it with! Isn't it crazy that on just protein shakes and water we can feel full and not hungry? Still amazes me! It's nice to know that our pouches still really work. The first day I was on and off the scale all day, I live in hope too... lol The next morning there was a 2 lb loss though so, just keep that hope alive, it'll happen! I'm going great on day 3... now I just have to decide what I'm gonna eat tomorrow.
