MALABSORPTION
What I've read & understand from recent posts is that our bodies 'compensate' for the lost legnths of intestine, by growing additional 'nodules (I don't know the correct term!!) - you know, the sticky out bits all along our intestines that do the absorption, on the remaining intestine, thus gaining back the surface area of the intestine to absorb by.
I've only just starting reading this in the last month - haven't heard anything before then, so mayeb it's a new thought/discovery?
All my surgeon said at the time of my wls was that one third of weight loss was from malabsorption, and two thirds from reduced intake. No mention of a time limit in this.
