Scales
I'm interested to know - how is your relationship with your scales now?
I used to be in a very close relationship with mine, but I have cooled things off lately. I have a date with them every Friday, but other times depends on how I feel - usually I talk to them a couple of times a week, not every day now - it used to be a couple of times a day at one point.
They don't mind - they are happy with whatever level of relationship I chose - that's what's so good about our friendship They did try to dominate me at one point, but after I told them I wasn't going to see them for a while, and showed them who's boss, things got back onto an even keel
Oh my love/hate relationship with my scales...they are in the kitchen right next to the frig. as a deterant to opening that frig door! I weigh every morning after my bathroom ritual and before I eat or drink anything! This usually sets the tone for my day-it doesn't necessarily bring me down it just serves as reinforcement to TRY to follow the rules- weight up-eat more protein drink more water! pounds down-yeah for me!but I slack a little!Still trying to grasp maintaing without gaining!!Exercise what is that!! Maybe one day my hectic schedule will slow down and I can get back to it!! I actually did enjoy it those first 10 months! I just so admire Deanna! GO GIRL!

I weigh every day....sometimes 2-3 times a day. However, it is a must due to my lung problem and fluid retention due to it. My weight can go up as much as 10-15 lbs in a day due to the fluid retention so I need to weigh every morning to determine how much of a diuretic to take. I know my "dry" weight so I go by that. When I am not at home for a few days I go by how my ankles look. I used to think I was obsessed by the scales but now I find I just get on them more often when there is the fluid retention. I no longer feel like it is that I just have to or else. In the beginning I would weigh sometimes 10 or 12 times a day.....can you say OBSESSED! Now I get on the scales out of necessity.
