eating everything!!!
I hope somebody can give me some advise. I had my surgery on May 5, 2006 and am down 120 lbs am very happy with my weight loss so far and would like to lose another 15 lbs . Heres the problem lately it seems like unless it runs from me i will eat it, I still cannot eat large amounts but i can eat all day and some days i cant seem to control my self it's just like I was before my surgery and that terrifies me. thaks in advance for any suggestions!!
Hi Cindy! Congratulations on your weight loss! You've done great!
I'd also like to lose another 10-15 pounds. My doctors are happy with where I'm at and said I can officially maintain. But I would like to lose more. Unfortunately I've hit a plateau for the last 2 months and that is driving me nuts!
I too can eat anything if it's in front of me. I still can't eat a lot in one sitting but if left to graze all day, I am able to polish off A LOT! That scares me too ... because I was that way before surgery and I don't want to be that way anymore. I don't understand that drive to eat!!! But I sure was cursed with it!
Anyway, I like to pre-plan my days menu and that helps me stick to it. I log it all into sparkpeople.com. I also schedule my trips to the gym so that I keep a routine of it. And I try to exercise really hard so that I know I'm burning a lot of calories. I stick to 6 mini-meals a day and that helps me since I'm eating on a very regular basis. Also helps the metabolism keep burning! Oh, and I chew gum too ... helps to keep something in my mouth so I can't eat!
I don't have any great words of wisdom but I do know how you feel. It scares me too! I really don't want to be who I was before!
Deanna
Sadly, I know that feeling all too well!
Also, sadly I don't have any magic answers, I wish this surgery fixed all the things associated with being overweight.
Anyway, I agree with Deanna, when I plan I eat right, when I don't I constantly grab whatever catches my eye or mind and end up grazing all day long. As my husband tells me, I'm nto a cow - I don't need to graze like one
I also find that coming on here and posting and reading keeps me in check - I'm accountable to my friends who have supported me along the way. It'd be great to get to know you and have you join our regular community. Without these guys, I'd be WAY off track by now.
