Hi Ruth; we stayed at a place called Jakes for must of the time, but it was very hot and buggy . ( our first room had no ac) ( and when a bug ran across me at night we made a switch to another room with ac) it was pretty buggy all around ... The hotel itself is really several tiny cottages set on the sea.. very beautiful views... every one was private and had outdoor showers... (I took pics) I loved them... you could take a shower(in private) while watching the ocean and looking up at the stars... very cool. the last 2 nights we stayed on the other side of the island and were at the Ritz Carlton. the gave us a huge executive suite and we got completely pampered... I took pics as well... lots and lots of snorkeling and relaxing... we had so much fun... and yep...LOL only with this surgery can you go on vacation and loose weight.... next Monday I am going to Canada (Vancouver ) (hubby business trip)and then to Palm beach (brother wedding and surgery consultation)... no I don't have a date yet, I am scared to death and have to see what the doctor says when I go in.... He told me (I met him at the OH conference) that I would loose 15 lbs more from the skin... I am 143 today and honestly cant even imagine that... BTW: how are you and your family? is the flooding effecting you at all?

Hey Deanna do you have any runs you are training for at the moment? Do you only run outside when it's a race or do you train outside now?

Hi Ruth! Thanks for asking ... yes, I have a bunch of runs scheduled! We are having weekly 5Ks in the park here in August every Thursday night. So I want to do some of those. Then in September I am being VERY brave and attempting a 10K, which is 6.2 miles. In October I have another 5K. In November I have a 10K. And then another 5K in December. I'm trying to have something major each month to sign up for to keep me training. I'm crazy! Mostly I just run inside on the treadmill. But I've gone outside a few times to run too. I really prefer trail running but I get scared to go by myself. I'm trying to find more trail runs to sign up for because they are easier than running on pavement. Have you done anymore running? It's really amazing to me to be able to do it. Like I said before, it's difficult for the first few mintutes and then all the sudden you break through that wall and it gets easier to breathe. I just love the feeling of accomplishment it gives me! I even signed up for a subscription to a Runners magazine! Now I'm really nuts! Thanks for asking Ruth ... it means a lot to me that someone out there is thinking about me! You're the coolest! Deanna

no I haven't been running again (to my shame). I don't know why - I could give a ton of reasons, all valid, but the truth is that if I really wanted to I would make the time, effort etc. I really admire you and what you have accomlished. As I have said before, I would love to run, but just don't do it. It's almost a barrier thing, that I'm finding it tough to cross over. Either that or I'm lazy (I'm being honest here, not self deprecating - if that's the right word and I haven't just said something really offensive by mistake !! ) Good for you signing up - you just keep going from strength to strength. Believe in yourself and you will run the world Deanna. Keep us updated on how your races are going - I can bask in yoru reflected glory and achievement hee hee.

Oh Jean it sounds wonderful, even if a bit buggy!! Thanks for asking re the flooding. Thankfully for us, althought it has rained much, we have not had any flooding here. It has been close though, but somehow the worst weather seems to have skirted around us. I just don't know what's going on with the weather this year. I hear it's been weird in Texas too - what is the rest of America like?
