Hello there! I'm just curious if anyone is drinking diet soda??? Even before surgery, I wasn't much of a soda drinker. But just recently I have this HUGE desire to drink carbonation. Usually it's after a meal that is salty. I just have this huge drive to drink a diet soda! Deanna

I was a total coke addict before surgery and would drink cases of it every day. I dont touch it now because i know it would be a slippery slope for me.. Better to avoid it than start that habit again.

I have had a diet root beer soda quite a few times, however it sat for two days open mind you before I drank it. I have tried to drink it with the full carbonation but I don't like the way it makes my pouch feel. I would say if your going to drink it drink it flat. Lorraine

I too was a total diet pepsi addict before WLS. I thought that would be one of the hardest things to give up. But now I cant' drink soda at all - I occassionally have sips but they all taste horrid to me now and give me tummy pain. Can't say I'm sorry about that as it keeps me in check.

Hi. I was also a big diet coke drinker before surgery and still am.... I don't drink AS much as I used to,but it doesn't bother me at all.. I get tired of drinking the same thing all the time,so its diet coke, crystal light, coffee, and water.

yep, I am back on the soda band wagon. yesterday I went to the Dollar Store and grabbed a diet coke, and then late night we were at Taco Treat and I ended up with a root beer. sip slowly, or the bubbles will give you a tummy ache and then be prepared to belch like a truck driver.

hi honey! I don't drink carbonated beverages but no coke products even flat as they are reported to deplete/leech calcium in/from bones and teeth and I figure since we are already malabsorbers I really can't afford to lose any bone or teeth! aNDI
