Thats right.. I went to the store today for the first time in a couple of months and was looking at pants and shirts.. my 5's are getting to big and my 3's are big so I thought.. what the heck lets try on a 1.. so i bring a bunch in and they all fit.. BIG.. thats right.. they are big on me.. so i go out and get 0's and they fit me too.. some were even a little big.. now I have no idea what comes after zero.. but WOW.. WOW.. WOW.. what a moment that was.. than it dawned on me.. i have gone from size 24 to 0.... OMG.. what a difference.. what a new and incredible life... thanks for listening guys..

Oh my gosh, Carla! That is amazing! What does come after 0??? You might have to wear childrens clothing! I think I'm dressing too big. Every picture I see of myself, my clothes look too big. But when I put them on, they feel okay. But people tell me they look baggy. I think I need to go down a size! Not sure! I just don't even begin to know what to wear! Deanna

Hey Carla Now you know me and I am pleased for you, but that sounds weird to me - smaller than a size zero?? I don't mean to be mean or anything to you, it just seems strange that you can be that small. Without taking away from your obvious success from all your hard work, do you think it is vanity sizing or are the clothes really that small? What are your measurements out of interest? I'm a bit concerned about you getting smaller - as you say, what comes after zero? Please, please don't get too small-----

It is not just myself that has fallen to vanity sizing.. In 1983 they abandoned stardardized sizing because the world as a whole was becoming overweight. The entire system has changed since than. My understanding is if you wear a 4 now you would have worn a 10 in the old days. with that said.. I am not the only one in this mess of sizing. Back in the old days they didnt even make small sizes... clothes began at 7 and went up. Now they go as low as double zero. With this said.. there are some companies that apparently make their clothes a little bigger so ppl will find they fit in them and want to buy them cause they are smaller.. ok.. well that may be true but it is usually the upper end retailers that do that. not kohls, mervyns or jc pennys, kmart or walmart. With that said... if I am looking at vanity clothing so is everyone else so if you are wearing a 12 arent u really wearing a 20. My waist is 25 and my hips are 33. That cant be changed nor un standardized and I am proud of that. In old standards I would be in a 8 or 10 possibly but I didnt create the new system and I am only reporting what size I got into.

I wasn't referring to your vanity Carla, but over here that is the phrase used when, as you say, the manufacturers make the clothes larger and put smaller size labels on them in an effort to get people to buy clothes from them (and it works here too!). Also as you say, sizing is a mess now, as it totally depends on which shop you buy from, etc. That said, it does feel great doesn't it to be in smaller sizes. Going from size 24 (which was the same as I was) you have done amazingly, no matter what size we say you are now!! Either way, you are healthier and fitter than before and that can't be disputed (even if the stores will dispute sizing between them!) There is a move here to go to centimetres instead of sizes, so you would have to go into a shop and ask for size 25 waist. I hate that idea, and so do alot of women as they would have to disclose their size. It would standadise the sizes though and everyone would know exactly what size they ar buying.

your right they did change the sizes a size 0 was a 2, a size 4 was a 6 ,6 was an 8, 8/9 was a 9/10 and so forth... all this mindless stuff I learn selling clothes..BUT clothes are made wider now as well then they were in the past as well they are cut different. I like to get allot of juniors sizes now... good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!, you should be proud of yourself with all you have done..
