Happy celebrating!! It's just another plain old day here - of course we are not going to celebrate you guys becoming independent from us now are we... I'm feeling much better thank you. I'll be back at work tomorrow - groan. I could have done wihtout any time off as I've got so much to do before the end of this semester next week, but oh well, I'll have to suck it up and deal with it when I get there tomorrow. It just means I'll have to work more into the school break than I'd planned.

Do you guys go to school all year long and just take holiday's in between? I keep wondering if that isn't better for the children, this 10 week break means they have to go back and re-learn alot of things. I'm glad you are feeling better. ANDI

My younger ones are on year round and went back to school on Monday. They started their new grades.. they get a month off in december, march and august each year.. I think it works out better cause they get a break to re energize and dont forget everything they've learned.

They have thought about going to year round school but haven't done it yet. They break up next week (earlier than some schools) and go back first week in September. They get a week mid each semester, and a 2 week break christmas and easter, so they are at school 36 weeks of the year, approx. I agree, I think the summer break is too long and the children spend the first while playing catch up on what thye've gotton out of practice with. Far better to have shorter breaks. That way, they have breaks and more often too, as with sememsters lasting upto 13 weeks long with only 1 week break in the middle the children get so tired by the end. Millie is on her last legs at the moment. It is the teachers who have stopped it going to year round - they like the long summer break and say they need it

yeah it creates a bit of a problem for us but the track they are on isnt to bad. they get december and two weeks my oldest is home so I dont have to worry. easter falls in the other month so she is home for one week of that.. i send them to grandmas for a week and to their aunts for the week on the other ones.. it seems to work out.. I know the schedule works out better for them but is a pain for us.. really cuts into the time we can have a summer vacation and we have to play pass the kids out about 6 weeks a year.. but so far we have managed to get it done.. when they get to middle school they go to traditional schedules again.. but that wont be for a while for jessie
