Bra woes ...

I've had the worst day EVER! Ha, ha, just kidding. But, I did go get measured for a bra at Nordstroms and I spent well over an hour trying on bras that the ladies were fitting me with. No luck. The ladies were completely stumped. My current size is approximately a 34DDD or 34G. Anything that is 36 is too big around but 34s seem to fit comfortably. My problem is the cups. Whatever is left of my boobs is pure skin ... there is NO shape whatsover. I fit good in the DDD cups but there is major spillage over the sides underneath my armpit area. If I go up to a G cup, it's too big. These poor ladies were absolutely puzzled with me. They said they have never had this problem. I must have tried on 3 dozen bras in all sizes and shapes and nothing came close to fitting me. I was just mortified standing there completely topless with my boobies sagging down to my waist. Me, the person who used to hide away in my house was topless in the dressing room with two women gawking over me. I was embarrassed!!! What the heck do I do??? I can't afford a breast reduction and my insurance will not pay for it. I walked away feeling very depressed and discouraged. I don't know what to do! Anyone else having bra woes??? Deanna

Oh, poor Deanna...my you have come a long way, to hiding away in your house (yes I remember those posts), to revealing all infront of two strangers. How brave is that. My bras are doing mostly ok, except for the straps digging in on my shoulders - boy does that hurt. I have no 'padding' left to protect the from the weight of my girls, so am left with two red welts. I'm wearing a 36g at the moment, but think I am at the point where I need to go down to a 34g - not easy to find. A lot of mine is just empty skin too. I have the underarm overhang which I try to stuff in as best I can!! The good thing is that I no longer have back hang, where you get the rolls of fat hanging over the straps of your bra - they've disappeared

SINCERE HUGS!!! yes, I know what you went through, I feel your pain and I am so sorry. however nordstroms is not the place to go. strange but true. I did go at one point in december, for the same reason and I did find two close matches for bras, it tided me over, but eventually I found a good bra at kohls and have since dropped $200 on them there. AUGH! I would start with http://www.barenecessities.com/Bras_catalog_nxs,31.htm there are about 5 cup sizes between DDD and G get a DDDD or an E or and F, those sales ladies are not helping if they do not show you all the different sizes, they were limiting you to what THEY had in stock, not what is available.

Hi Kat! Thanks for the website recommendation ... I'll check them out! I already ordered and sent back about 6 bras from another website that just don't seem to fit right. I'm a problem case, I think! Do you know if Kohl's carries larger cup sizes in their stores? We have one but it's a 1+ hour drive from us. But it would be worth driving up there if I could find something! Deanna

no, kohls is the traditional cup sizes. I had to wait until I was a 36 C to start buying there. I think that the problem is really that you are not getting the 'f' options.. Is there an old fashioned bra store out by you? There are a few up here and they will take a bra that sort of fits and customize it to your body! Have you seen what it would take for your insurance company to cover the breast reduction, because if you have tried methods for a year and htey've been documented through doctors then my insurance company will pay....i go to my primary care guy for "assorted rashes" then to the chiropractor for back/neck pain due to the girls, I'll get this done by hook or by crook i'm telling you!
