Protein ball recipe and questions ...
Hi everyone!
I saw that some of you are making protein balls ... can you share your recipe please??? I need some new snack ideas!
Some questions about them ... do you taste that weird aftertaste of the protein powder in them? I've always had a huge aversion to the protein drinks! Also, do you need to refrigerate them??? Do you know the nutritional stats on them?
Thanks a bunch!
Deanna
I got a ton of different protein recipes... lol...
Protein balls
1 cup of protein powder.. i use isopure pure chocolate.. yummy
1 cup of oatmeal.. the regular kind not instant.
1 cup of peanut butter
5 packs of splenda
Put pb in the microwave for about 45 seconds to soften it up... Mix everything together.. you may need to add a couple squirts of water to make it moist enough to mold.
Makes 24 balls about the size of a walnut. Refridgerate when done.. but they dont have to remain in the refrig .. i take them with me when I go places in my bag.. you just dont want to leave them out for a week i guess.
Serving info
1 protien ball
110 calories.. may vary if you use a different proteit
11 grams of protein
I usually eat two of them for a snack. The ppl over on the graduate board think that protein levels should be at least 100 or higher if you exercise.. I try and keep mine at 120 and above.. I feel much better and I am loosing weight again even though I am not exercising and eating more.. so I think it works.
As far as taste.. they taste like a dry recesses cup... not to bad at all.. they are kind of dry though.. you mouth will make them get moister.. so it works... give it a try.. u might like it.. Its also a way to get those extra calories that are hard to get in each day and they are good cals cause they are full of protein.
want me to send you some, i've got enough s.f. maple syrup to float down a river? For some odd reason, they were on sale and my mom bought me like 6-8 of them thinking that'll be great but pancakes make me ill so really what do i use them for now? I have used some on a pork loin wtih mustard for a sauce but really that's about it. ANDI
