I'm BACK!!!
We're back from Vegas! Our flight home got delayed in Vegas for 2 1/2 hours so we didn't get home to our house until 4:30 in the morning. I was soooooooo tired! Especially since we didn't sleep very much each night we were there so we could go run around and do things!
We had SO much fun! I want to go back really bad. We saw so many things and crammed so much into every day. The first night we went to Lance Burton the magician and he was amazing! I'm so glad we went to that show! We stayed at the Monte Carlo and it was so nice and after seeing a lot of the other hotels, I'm really glad we stayed there. It was much nicer and cleaner than all the others. We rented a Ford Mustang convertible to drive out to Hoover Dam. We went up in the Stratosphere, up in the Eiffel Tower ... which was really cool because you could overlook the Bellagio Fountains at night. Amazing view! The fountains played "Somewhere in Time" while we were up in the Eiffel Tower which was perfect because it's my favorite movie and song of all time! We also went to the Mirage to see the Secret Gardens and Dolphin and Tiger exhibit. We got to see the brand new baby dolphin which was only 1 week old! Soooooo cute! He just swam alongside his mommy the whole time! We saw the lions at MGM, went to the M&M store (those M&Ms are soooo expensive! Jeesh!). We went to Luxor and saw the King Tut's Tomb replica, saw an IMAX film, and I did one of the motion rides. I also got a pearl out of an oyster and had it mounted in a necklace pendant! Sooooo cool! We went and saw the Titanic display which showed a bunch of pieces recovered from the actual Titanic. This was probably my favorite part of the trip; it was amazing to see all that stuff! We rode on the gondolas at the Venetian. We went to NY/NY and I rode that freaking rollercoaster! It went upside down twice. It would NOT do it again unless someone really talked me into it. My neck and shoulders were so sore the next day from going upside down and having the neck thing on so tight! Ouch! We hung out by the pool at our hotel which was neat because they had a wave pool and a "lazy riv er" pool which you could rent tubes to ride on. I don't think we hardly spent any time gambling but I did manage to win $7 right before we left for home! Oh, and we both got Henna tattoos!!!
We had such a fun, fun time! The only hard part was finding good food for me to eat. I ate a lot of crap while I was there and not a lot of protein and I could feel it. I was really glad to get home and eat some fruit for a change! I don't think I found one piece of fruit while we were there. And since we were on a strict budget, it made it hard to find good things to eat. But I spent most of my money on buying bottles of water, which I needed sooooo bad!
Another great thing was that even though it was 106 degrees outside, I wasn't uncomfortable like I know I would have been before surgery. I walked up and down the strip and put a ton of miles on my feet! But I did it and didn't get tired from that part of it ... it was GREAT!
I posted a couple pictures on my profile ... I even wore a swimming suit at the pool! Wow! It was so much fun but I'm glad to be back and to a normal routine again!
Deanna
It's about time you got back.. WOW... u did everything.. I cant believe how much you squeezed into this trip.. I know you had fun.. now take a breath.. i know you didnt have time while you were there with everything you were doing.. lol... I am so happy you had a great time...
Love the pics... wow... this sounds like a truly wonderful time...
So good to have you back Deanna - you were missed.
Sounds like you had a great time - probably well deserved too. I love the picture of you and DH in the gondola. You really are very photogenic. Don't worry about the eating - that's what vacations are for. The good news is that you know have the knowledge and skill to go back to eatign right now you are back and I bet you haven't put any weight on anyway, what with being so active
