confusing and mixed signals
I do not know about 'ya'll' but here in texas, we get a lot of mixed signals.
dr wongsa was all up in your face about lean meats and leafy green vegetables. forever. which does work, extremely well. I am below goal. but not very practical since I was sneaking in carbs at 90 days post op.
dr st laurent is all about small portions, eat everything, but do not stretch your pouch, 4 small meals a day, every 4 hours. which does not work as effectively, but at this point in the game for me is okay. he encouraged me to increase my snacks and to increase my calories.
the general board is a protein, fake and whatnot, which freaks a newbie out and I really do not think that they are 'wrong' but they are not all that healthy either. the protein drinks have the calories and they 'go right through you' so they are mal-absorbed and do not really do a thing for you.
everyone agrees that you need a ton of fluids.
everyone agrees that you need to exercise, I am just grateful that I do not, and that my 'normal' healthy lifestyle is enough to achieve my goal.
dr st laurent said that i was perfect on paper. heehee boy did that come out wrong. be essentially what he meant was that all my blood work looks like I am perfect. my only concern is that my red and white blood cell counts are down, but they were down 6 months ago.
my b12 and folate are all normal, so I do not need any supplements. I should have written down my list before hand, because he ended up preaching to the choir and so I didnt ask a couple of questions about my back ache where my kidneys are and I didnt ask about my right leg being still tingly after 7 months and I will not see him again until november.
so despite everyones best intentions I am healthy and getting happier. cutting back at work, enjoying life a little more, doing jobs that I enjoy for the pleasure not for the money. spending too much money on stuff this week. not a good thing.
I am healthy. I am at goal. I am happy.

Glad you are doing so well, my white count was too too...I agree about the protein shakes... I think they are good for some, but I could not get them down.. Now they are like extra calorie's that I do not need. I think all areas are full of mixed signals... I just dont think they know... I do think the 5 plus years old post opps know quite a bit as a whole and are pretty consistent on what has made them stay successful. I think most of us know what works or not for our body's and seem to do well listening. adjusting based on our individual needs...anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it...LOL LOL
