Glad to see so many posting yesterday. It seems we are on a carb feast lately. I would like you all to try and avoid those un-necessary carbs today. Lean toward the hard proteins. if you dont have time to make something.. get a chicken breast sandwich from mcdonalds and eat the breast leaving the bread. the sandwich all together is 560 calories but if you remove the bread it drops to 220. well worth gettin rid of the bread.. if you get it with no dressing it drops to 170. I like getting more bang for my buck as they say. Its simple things like that that make your meal choices better and help you move closer to your goal. I know making choices to give up the chips, cupcakes and cookies is tough but we all went through a lot to loose this weight.. toyed with death and had surgery, have a life long change in our pipes that we will need to make concessions for so we need to make the rest of the commitment to change and give up some of those things we know are not good for us and are a barrier to reaching our goals. I like to think of it as giving up a year of my life for a better life. we do it to go to college to make more money, we do it to have a child, why cant we do it to get healthy. Stay strong, determined and just say no to things we cant or know we shouldnt have. It is a tough decision. are we loosing out on special things.. I dont think so cause the extra time we acquire in our lives from being healthy make up for that cupcake or cookie you wont remember 5 months from now.. If it is something that wont matter in a week is it something that is really necessary in our lives right now.. Lets all give it a go and STAY ON TRACK.. Vitamins- done Water- working on it Food- B- protein shake 250 cals 35 pro S- Danion yogurt 60 cals L- healthy choice dinner 240 cals 20 pro D- chicken with veggies 300 cals 25 pro S- pretzels 100 cals 2 pro 950 calories 90 pro Exercise- one hour of step areobics and superset trainning to arms. Goal- relax and stop thinking. Have a doc appointment today and I am little stressed about it.. Snacking- I ate less ice cream last night to see if it would upset my stomach like it did on saturday.. i get really bad gas when I eat the stuff and jo said why do you do that to yourself.. is that ice cream that good.. I thought about it and I guess she is right.. its not that good that I want to suffer for the rest of the night just to eat it.. I just have a problem stopping myself from doing it once it's in my head. So I will not have ice cream tonight.. there.

Food: B--1/2 whole wheat bagel toasted with 1/2 oz. light cream cheese, 4 strawberries S--sugar free hot cocoa with skim milk, 1/2 banana with peanut butter L--1/2 slice thin crust pizza, 1 serving Sun Chips (eeks!) S--Danon Light & Fit yogurt with sprinkle of granola D--taco salad S--south beach cookies and sugar free pudding Exercise: Went to gym and did 45 minutes of weight training. Walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes ... my knee is bothering me so I took it easy on it today and didn't run. Goal: I need to get better about making myself good protein based meals. My trainer at the gym is a nutrition major at school so she's helping me out a bit. She said I need to add more carbs with as much running as I'm doing. My dietician told me this too. They said I'm "burning out" of energy and I need to supplement more carbs to give my body more energy. I have a 5K run on Saturday so I need to get ready for it! But I also need to keep my protein levels up there. I'm having a hard time striking a good balance! I feel like I don't know what to eat!!! Deanna

Yes, I too hate throwing out food and see it as wasting it. Yet in the 'old days' I would eat it instead of wasting it !!???!!!??!?!?!?! WHAT??? where is the sense in that - I know better now, but still don't like throwing out food.

any fast food joint that sells the grilled chicken.. just get rid of the extra stuff and eat the breast meat.. its a quick low cal high protein meal for that on the go moment.. since i travel for my job I have had to find ways to eat out and still do it the right way.

The Asian Chicken Salad is also a good choice, just ask for the chicken grilled. I eat the chicken and most of the salad part but make the chicken a priority. It has 30+ grams of protein, which comes mostly from the chicken. They also make a new salad that is delicious as well. I find that Mc Donalds has the best tasting grilled chicken. I don't know what Burger King does to theirs but it doesn't taste as good. I believe the Asian chicken salad has less than 300 calories with the dressing. I would have to double check that though.
