one year surgiversary
After meeting with my nutritionist yesterday, she said I can officially
switch from the losing mode to maintenance and increasing my workouts and
strength training. my body fat percentage yesterday was 18%, which is the
goal they want people to reach.
In October of 2005 i weighed 330 lbs with 39% body fat and a BMI of 48.7.
On May 2nd last year I weighed 304, body fat of 32% and a BMI of 44.8 .
Today I weigh 199. Yes, it's true, I have a 1 in front of my weight. It's been about 25 years since that's been
the case.
What's odd is that at 199 and 5'9" that still gives me a BMI of
29.3 which is just barely under the 30 BMI which is considered Obese.
I'm up to running 3 miles in 30 minutes on the treadmill, and regularly do
walk/run workouts of 4 miles or more. I do something active almost every day and don't feel right unless I do. When I began this process I was worn out from walking 10 minutes, or going up a flight of stairs. I would come home from church on Sunday and fall asleep on the couch for the afternoon. Now I can't wait to change clothes and workout. Now THAT'S strange!!!
I am down from 4 insulin shots a day to 0. I'm off that stuff. just take metformin now and having good control of blood sugars.
I had a sleep study about six months ago and the sleep doc said I could put away the CPAP machine which I'd been using for about 7 years.
I used to have to use a rescue inhaler for asthma attacks, especially for exercise, and now rarely have to use that.
I've gone from 54 pants to a loose 38. XXXL or XXXXL shirts to L. sometimes M.
My complete wardrobe had to be replaced except for socks and shoes.
It's been quite a year.
