Are you ready to challenge yourself?
Hi there everyone!
On Friday I challenged myself to run for 4 miles on the treadmill ... and I did it! I never thought I'd actually be able to do it but I made it. When I went to pick my kids up in the childcare center, the lady told me "Gee, you must have worked out hard! You're red as a lobster!" I was sweating like a pig and my face was beat red! But I did it. And ever since then, I've felt this overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
There is an older gentleman that works out on the weights and he always stops me and tells me how great I'm looking. And the other day he told me the only way you will remain successful is if you keep challenging yourself. Set the bar higher everytime you work out.
So ....... who wants to challenge themselves? It doesn't have to be exercise related. It can be anything! Is there something you've been wanting to try but have been too scared?
I read a quote the other day about running and I kept telling myself that when I wanted to give up ... "Pain is weakness leaving your body." I like that! Makes me want to push through it just to show I can!

That is so great.. I do try and challenge myself at the gym each time I go. I increased my workouts from 30 minutes to an hour and have increased the pace and level on the elliptical machine again. I even started taking pilates at the gym now. I would love to get on the treadmill and try that again. I am affraid of the thing for some reason. Someday I would like to run in a marthon but I just dont know if I can do it.. Maybe I will try the treadmill again and see if it has gotten easier.. that to me is the toughest thing in the gym to do.
Carla, you are so inspiring to me! You continually amaze me at how much you work out ... you are awesome! I think you should get on that treadmill and try running ... the first 5 minutes are the hardest because that is when you are getting your breathing figured out. So, try 5 minutes and see how it goes! I have complete and utter faith in you ... maybe next year we'll both be running marathons!!!
