Post Lent Fast
Well, it's been a week...how has it been going?
Yes, I know on a fast you aren't supposed to have whatever you are fasting from at all, but my life isn't like that - I mess up at times. So I have had days that have gone well and days that have gone not so well as far as fasting goes.
BUT, I do know that since last Wednesday when we started this, my craving for sweet things has decreased dramatically. Even just after a week I feel more in control of the sweet stuff, and that it isn't controlling me at the moment.
I am looking forward to getting to the 3 week point. Apparently that is when we break a habit and form new ones (Carla has the details on that). Sounds good to me.
So no matter how your first week has gone, keep on going, it's going to get easier and better the longer we stick with it guys. And don't forget - no self flaming or beating yourself up if you haven't done as well as you'd have liked to. The important thing is that you are trying your best. You can't ask more of yourself than that.
It takes (21) days for something to form a habit, either good or bad, that's why the first three weeks on a healthier eating plan are so important. If you can stick it out for the initial 3 weeks, it becomes an ingrained habit. Not to say that we won't backslide every once in a while but on a whole you will do pretty well. ANDI
