QOTD
Camping or not. Are you the outdoors type. Do you enjoy camping. Have you ever been camping and if so what is the way you prefer to go camping.. in an RV, tent, under the stars or in the back of a truck. Tell about your camping experiences.
I love camping and have done it every way. I have camped in the back of a truck.. didnt like that much.. a tent is nice but I have gotten spoilt since I got the RV. I still do most of the camping outside the thing. I rarely cook in it.. We use it mostly just to sleep at night. I feel like being outdoors is why we're there and should do that as much as possible. I have a full kitchen set up for outside so I use that for the most part.
My favorite trip was when I spent a week by a river fishing. Every day we would walk the river and catch our food. I am not a fish eater but when you catch your own trout, you gotta eat it and its so much better when its fresh from the stream.
how do i say this without it sounding horrid......I am a jewish american princess and part of that is that we don't camp! I went camping once, in a tent on Assateague island with the wild ponies running free on the beach, it was amazing but it was too much for me. I love the outdoors but i need running water, showers, soap, a blow dryer and a make up mirror! I have never been fishing before but i have been crabbing and clamming and i enjoy that! ANDI
I grew up doing the full works camping thing with family - with sticks & string things tied together for tables & stuff, leant all the knots, etc, plus was a girl guide. Loved it as a child.
Now I need my home comforts! There is also no way I would be able to persuade hubbie to go camping. Millie would absolutley love it.
I used to enjoy the freedom you get as a child when you are camping, the camp fire, singing, and camp fire food (with burnt bits for added flavour hee hee).
now see, I could eat burnt marshmallows forever (oh so good) last summer i couldn't even think about marshmallows, howevre this summer i'm getting sugar free marshmallows, some sugar free chocolate and i'm going to find a sugar free cookie to use for s'mores. I'm not saying it's healthy but it's something we do every single year on July 4th in honor of my friend Howard. S'mores were his favorite, he passed away June '04, i miss him as much today as I did the first weeks he was gone. People say it gets easier, but i think they lie. ANDI
there sure is, if you go to www.C2Linfo.com you can find a plethora of cool stuff there. It's owned by two woman who had weight loss surgery. Tell them Andi sent you, I don't guarantee a discount but they'll smile.ANDI
There are always good bits to camping - and the camp fire s'mores are the best - they might even outweigh all the discomforts hee hee.
No I agree I don't think loss gets easier, but it does go to show how much that person meant in our lives and how speacial a person they were. It means there is something to miss.
I actually had to go to bed early last night because i began thinking on the s'mores in a serious way that was unhealthy for me! Howard was my best friend from the second I opened my eyes, he and his twin brother were a year and 11 days older then i am/was! We are still pretty close, but i find it hard to stay ultra close to his brother as one was my best friend and one was just a good friend. ANDI
