What you cooking today
I am making Pasta Fagioli. Yummy italian soup with ground beef, celery, onions, peppers, garlic, kidney beans, tomatoes, beef stock and small shell pasta. Lots of fresh oregano, parsley and basil. I cook the pasta seperate and add just a little to a bowl of the soup before eating. Here is how I make it:
1 lb ground sirloin
1 c. diced celery
1 c. diced onion
1/2 c. diced green peppers
2 tbls minced garlic
1 28 oz can diced tomatoes
1 15 oz can red kidney beans
1 32oz container beef stock, I also add 1 tbls beef soup base to this
2 tbls fresh organo
2 tbls fresh parsley
1 tbls fresh basil
salt and pepper to taste
Brown and crumble beef in skillet. I add some garlic powder and salt and pepper to this. Drain. Combine remaining ingredients in large crock pot. Add beef and let simmer all day. Just before serving prepare small shell pasta...the tiny one. I usually add some of this to the bowl then ladle soup into bowl.

1 cup of water
2 1/2 cups tomato sauce
1 cup of cider vinegar
2 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tsp dry mustard
2 tsp balck pepper
1 tb salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup slenda.
bring evertything to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and let simmer about 20 minuts to bring flavors out. refrigerate. this will keep a couple weeks.
