Exercising hard and headaches, fatigue ...

Hi everyone! I just e-mailed my Dietician about my exercising ... I've been running a lot and when I do, I can tell there is a big decrease in my energy part way into my run. Also, after I'm done running I get a head ache really bad. So I asked her about this and this is what she said: "Yes it sounds like you need some carbs both before and after you run......before hand you may want to do some juice or Gatorade or maybe some fruit. Some people tend to get cramps if they eat something fibrous such as fruit so if that is the case for you then try the Gatorade or juice and save the banana for after. You can also dilute some juice with water and carry it in a water bottle while you run. Your muscles will burn through the sugar stores quickly and can suck some extra sugar from your blood and the drop in sugar in your muscles causes "the burn" and the drop in the blood sugar can cause the headache (although dehydration can cause a headache too!) Hope this helps!" Anyway, I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this or not but I found what she said to be helpful. Deanna

yes that is very interesting... and sounds very true.. i was gonna post something about that myself.. i am not getting headaches but for the past three days almost every time i stand up i am getting dizzy.. u know where u feel like you are going to black out and hang on to the wall til it passes kind of thing... I reduced my calories again this week and lost 3 pounds in the last three days. I wonder if that is what is doing it to me.. I was eating more there for a while.. I know not eating enough or having carbs can cause that... I think i told you all the other day they did my body fat and i am at 21.4. I am starting to worry if i shouldnt try and loose this extra 10 pounds I have been talking about. What do you think... Deanna.. i noticed that i have been really tired a lot.. i mean falling asleep in my chair at work tired.. daily. I remember you saying something about you being tired.. some suggested that i take more vitamin b sublinguals.. my doc only said once a week but the package says daily.. so on sunday i started taking them everyday.. i havent been falling asleep at work for the past 2 days and I am more alert.. i think that helped.. how much are u talking of vitamin B. Just suggesting something else that might help with the fatigue cause mine was really bad... i was sleeping like a few hours at work each day.. good thing i am in an office away from everyone..lol..

Hi Carla! I have been taking a Super Mega B Complex supplement everyday. I wonder if I should try the sublingual B12 though. Everyday after I eat lunch, I fall asleep in my chair! It's that bad! I know I'm not getting enough sleep at night but you would think I could stay awake during the day! Maybe I should try the sublingual B12? Where did you get yours at? Deanna
