Hey everyone, I am home from the hospital following my breast reduction/lift. I am not used to the girls not hanging and they are perky and much smaller. It hurts but its bearable. My back doesnt ache anymore though. I know it will take time for them to heal then drop down into place so I am sure they will look just fine once all that takes place. Kel

I would love to share this journey with you all. If you have any questions just ask and I will try to answer any and all questions you might have. As far as the secret surgiversary santa goes...give me some details about it and I will let you know. How is that going to work? Kel

Hi Kel Glad you're home safely. What was it like? Does it seem weird having perky girls now? How long will it take til they settle down? Did insurance cover it or are you self pay? How did you decide what size to go for? What incisions did the surgeon make? Come on, come on - I want all the details - it's something I'd like eventually too, so you are like our guinea pig hee hee. No more like our pioneer, forging the way.

It seems very weird having perky small boobs compared to what they were. Right now they look miss shaped but the doctor said that as they heal they fall into place. I dont know what size they will be once they settle down. He doesnt give you a cup size he does it all by measuring from your collarbone and some other measurements that he does. Right now they look so strange to me because I have always had saggy and huge boobs. He did the keyhole incision and so far so good my nipples even still have their sensitivity. Yes my insurance covered it as I was having terrible backpain from lugging the old girls around. So far so good...no backache at all that in itself is success for me. The muscles hurt alot right now...kind of like a strenuous workout or being hit in the chest. I notice that when I lay down for a while after I take my pain meds and have to lay down that when I first get up it hurts alot because the gravity of them pulling down on those fresh cut muscles and tissues gets to you. But after a few seconds it goes away. I look forward to wearing those tops that have the sports bra on the inside with the spaghetti straps. Before when I would try to wear them it looked like I had uniboobs now the girls are sitting up where they are supposed to and I am sure in time they will fall into place just like they are supposed to and they will look smashing.. But now that I have gotten the girls done I hate my tummy because of all the extra skin. I am planning on having my tummy tuck done in August or September. I have alot of extra skin at the top of my tummy so he will be doing the anchor cut for that. My PS will only do one procedure at a time. He feels that multiple ones are not good for your body. He likes to wait at least 3 months between procedures to give your body time to heal. I took some before pics in my bedroom mirror the day of the surgery and I once the girls heal some if you would like to see the before and after I would be more than happy to send them to you. Kel

i definitely wanna see the before and after pictures...any chance we can get you to take weekly pictures so we know what we are in for. I had a long discussion with my girls this morning and told them to get serious and get back up where they belong, I think i still hear my nipples snickering! Hugs, ANDI

Congratulations Kelly! I'm so happy for you ... You must be so excited! I have HUGE girls still. Actually, they aren't so full anymore, just a lot of hanging skin that won't go away. I'm in a size 34 I bra ... how awful is that? I'm really hoping to have a breast reduction some day, although I will have to be self pay. So I appreciate all the information you gave! Deanna

Aren't you having severe back pain from lugging those girls around. Mine was medically necessary that is how I got them to cover the reduction....yes they have to take a certain amount of tissue however the end results are no back pain and a more realistic look. I would definitely fight with the insurance company to get them to cover it. Kel

Thats fantasic. I'm glad everything came out ok and you are home doing well and I am sure it feels better for you back. Yes.. keep us informed of how it goes. My insurance did what I figured and denied my surgery.. but that was expected so I am appealing. I hope to get that taken care of soon as well. I sure when everything gets in place you will look and feel wonderful.. congrats..

Oh no Carla I thought you were all set for PS...how long will it take to appeal? At least it will give your body a chance to settle down. Different docs have different opinions on how long to wait don't they. Fingers crossed the appeal works for you
