today I wanna discuss exercise. What do you all do as far as strenght training at this time. My trainer has me doing supersets. I never heard of it before I started working out with her and many trainers dont do them... I dont know why that is but I just love doing this. Supersets are where you do more than one exercise group at the same time. for instance.. you will do triceps, biceps and sit ups all in sets of three one right after the other.. so one set of each than start over. the reasoning for this is you dont stop to rest the area and than do another set. You keep moving to the next area while the area you just exercised is resting. My trainer says that this keeps yours cardio up and improves endurance. In a 30 minute workout I will complete about 15 different exercises each working on a choisen areas for that day. I have noticed the improvement in my strenght, but most importantly I have noticed my endurance has improved and i keep my cardio up and burn calories even when I am just working out. So what kind of strenght training do you do. have you tried super sets yet or even heard of them before.

I have never tried the super sets . I lift weights and jump rope durring down time at work , when I get home I try to get on the treadmill for 30 min or do stripper aerobis in the garage ,but mostly on weekend I like to just go some where that we can do a lot of walking .

Hi Carla! I've never heard of super sets but now you've made me wanna try them! I do strength training twice a week. I use the different weight lifting machines and/or barbells. I usually run a flight of stairs in between exercises so that keeps my heart rate up. On the other 5 days a week, I do cardio. Of those 5 days, I take a Spin class 2 days. Then I run on the other 3 days. Some days I switch things up and do the elliptical or just walk on a high level program on the treadmill. I still haven't gotten up the nerve to take a Pilates class! And I'm still determined to get on that rock climbing wall! Deanna

I think supersets would be the best thing for you. they keep the cardio up and you do toning instead of building. I love them and I have seen results from them pretty quick. I find the other way boring now. check out the internet. they have a system you can follow to do them and get the best results. Let me know what you think. Just another way to change up your routine and get those calories burning.

Supersets have been used by a large percentage of lifters for at least the last 20-30 years. Good for strength and great for cardio. Many skip aerobic exercises and just do supersets. Check out this link for more information. http://exercise.about.com/cs/weightlifting/a/supersets.htm Hawkeye Mike

when I work out with my trainer I do 1 hr of strength not supersets but do some combo's to give the muscles a rest between sets. I do 15 reps at a time usually x's3)
