Hey all!
Miss ya'll. We are on spring break here so I have got a bit more time to come on the boards. I have been having a few weird health problems lately, but I think they are all under control. But, I wanted to introduce you all to my new friends! Say hello to my collar bones...number one and number two.
Hope everyone is doing well!!!
Rachael
I have just been having the weirdest "issues" with what they have decided is late dumping syndrome not having anything to do with sugar intake. I really actually don't eat sugar, so it took them quite awhile to figure out what was happening, but I was constantly in the bathroom 2-3 hours after a meal...usually breakfast. They thought it could be so many things and they did a bunch of tests and then the nutritionist saved the day. I take a chewable fiber supplament with food to slow the digestion. Apparently I was having the hypoglycemic type attacks that some post-ops get 2 years out. 2 hours out my blood sugar would be down to 50. They also gave me a perscription for a powder called questran that helps prevent diarrhea. It's not completely gone, but it's so much better. I feel like I can leave the house safely now at least.
The husband is cool...at least I think. hehe...he's having the same 'graduate school stress' that I am, but our 5 year anniversary is coming up on April 6th and I am totally excited. Our wedding photos show me a cool 160 pounds heavier. We hired a photographer to take anniversary pics of us. It's going to be so cool.
I am in my friend's wedding on April 21st and I have to already have my bridesmaid dress sized down.
I have been reading ya'lls back posts this weekend. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty damn good. Looking at the profiles is amazing. Everyone is like a fraction of their former selves. We are all changing so much it is awesome. I am having trouble with the skin of course, mainly on my arms as I have always had big arms, but I decided over spring break to start weight training three days a week. It's sad how little I can lift compared to before the surgery, I have less muscle now, but I am only 27 so I am going to try aggressive weight lifting before I try plastic surgery.
Anyone have any weird post op issues like mine these days?
Sounds like you've had a really rough time of it
I haven't had anything nearly as bad as you, but I have to watch my blood sugars as they can get really low, and make me feel bad. I know Deanna has the same problem too - we are both diabetic. Mindyou, I'd much rather deal with low sugar than uncontrolled high sugars like I used to have even on lots of medication! I just learnt the recognise the symptoms and what to eat when the sugars go low.
Great news about the bridesmaid dress - I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of you at the wedding and your anniversary picture too. I've always dreamed of having my wedding photos redone whenever I lost weight - well now that is becoming a reality so I need to start thinking what style dress to wear! Because of being obese when I got married I didn't really have the dress of my dreams. A little bit longer and I can!
Looking forward to hearing more from you
