What could it be?

I've had 3 cramping attacks since Thursday. They come on long after I eat so I don't think it's dumping. It just is a contant pain in my whole abdomen and my chest is tight. It waxes and waines in severity but sometimes I have to roll up in the fetal position. It even seems to be tender to the touch. What could it be? Maybe my intestines are not liking what I ate? I am not dehydrated or constipated...My trainer mentioned something about my gallbladder? What do you guys think?

I would definiately call you doc. it could be a number of things. 1. if it is your gallbladder which tends to be common about this time it will hurt towards the left side of your tummy and is very painful. 2. I have had gas that has done that to me.. have you tried to use gas x to see if that helps 3. you may have a kink in your intestine as the food works its way down it i****ting that and that would be very painful as it squeezes through that area. 4. You may have something stuck. you say you feel like it is in your chest area. almost like a heartburn kind of thing..maybe. I get that way when I have something stuck and until it goes down i get a tummy ache and heart burn feeling in my chest. drink some warm fluids and someone said even drink meat tenderizer. try and go back to the basics for a day or two and see if that resolves it. you may have just aggravated you intestine some how and it needs a couple days of rest. But first and formost.. call your doc.. this are just opinions and in no way is it a diagnosis of what is wrong with you.. let us know how your doing and what the doc says.. take care of it asap ok..

It definately could be your gallbladder. I had problems years before my RNY and that is how it felt for me ... it would come and go and not have any "rhyme or reason" to it. I would get all clammy and feel like I needed to curl up. It's something you should call your doctor about though and get it figured out! Keep us posted! Deanna

It feels just like you describe Deanne. It's very weird...I will call the Dr. back in a few days if it happens again.

I did call the Dr. earlier and they said to take Gas X for a couple of days and call them if it reoccurs. I do not think it is gas. Carla, what you suggest seems logical.

You are in horrific pain at times and your doctor wants you to take Gas X for a couple of days? Are you ok with that because I have to tell you I would NOT be ok with that in the least. If it is a kink in the intestines then you are causing the intestines to possibly get septic and that may not be in your best interest right now (read that would be WAY bad for you) if it's your gallbladder and you're dealing with stones, that's really ugly and VERY painful. After kid #2 I had gallstones and let me tell you it mimicks a heart attack and wasn't on only one side it radiated through my chest like a boiling, searing pain that took my breathe away and left me clammy and really shakey. You be well y ou here and trust your gut instincts. ANDI
