QOTD
Ok.. so here I sit at work.. and I am thinking, what makes me want to come to work. What motivates me to do this job. So my question today is... What is the one thing you love most about your job. What motivates you to go to work each day. It cant be the money.. Im sure we all would say that.
I love the fact that I get to trouble shoot different problems. That keeps my job interesting and when I do it right the rewards of my efforts are great cause the people I deal with are often having major problems in their life. With just a little help will give them the tools to be more successful, more independent and happier for both them and the ones that care for them.
The part I dont like is when I see an individual not treated right and all attempts to help them fall on deaf ears so to speak. Many facilities arent willing to do what is needed to help the individual reach their needs in even some of the more simple of ways. It leaves it to me to make sure that individuals are being meet either their or somewhere else.
What I love about my job:
I love my job because I deal with different people every day and I'am very good at what I do, most people dread having their blood drawn ,but I am very gentle and quick so 9 times out of 10 they are pleasantly suprised at how painless and quick a visit to my office is.
My motivation:
I work because it sets a good example for my children. I tell my children their job is to go to school , my job is to be a mom 1 st and to be a phlebotomist 2nd which helps me provide them with health insurance, food ,clothing and a roof over their head .
This is kind of a difficult question for me to answer, being that I'm a stay at home mom.
The part that I love is seeing everything that my kids experience. My son just starting telling me "I love you Mommy!" and that is just music to my ears! My daughter is now old enough that she started calling me "Mom" instead of "Mommy." That makes me sad! But I treasure all those moments. All of the scrapes, bruises, bumps, hugs, kisses, etc. I've been there for all of them and I wouldn't trade that for anything!
The part I don't like is that people tell me all the time that I'm lucky that I don't work. Because I work very hard, I just don't get paid. I get a lot of people that look down on me for not having a career or bringing income into our home. At times I feel very guilty and inferior because I don't feel like a contributor to the family finances. There is a guy that my husband works with that is constantly saying I need to get a "real" job and earn an income. I hate that!
I know in my heart that I'm doing what is best for our family. But there are times when other people make me feel bad for not having a career and that is the only part I don't like.

My job is complex; i deal with the public educating them about heart disease, their risks, how to lessen the risks, i run a support group for them. The p.r. portion of my job is my passion, i make up programs/lectures/luncheons etc and go over any medical topic my boss deems necessary at the time! I love dealing with clients, all from vast backgrounds I love teaching and laughing with my co'workers and patients/clients.
Hugs, ANDI
I am a perfectionist. I work in Payroll (partly and partly HR). I love working with numbers and complex calculations - yes I'm sad I know. I love the way you can get numbers to calculate perfectly. They are ordered and structured, they are tidy. The person who created excel spreadsheets needs a great big hug You may find this strange but I love being creative with reports and spreadsheets that I write, and designing new documents.
I also love that fact that I work in the school where my daughter goes and I'm in an office where I get on with everyone and we have a good laugh. My boss lets me get on with my own work and doesn't micro manage.
