So I'm about to leave here in a little bit for my work function dinner thingy ,but the problem is my friend will be there as well and she's 5 weeks post op and not a good patient she has already had a cheeseburger , chilli, eggs, meatloaf, lasanga and heaven knows what else ! My other coworkers are lookin to me help her, but I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY .

Don't say anything. Point it out only if she complains about dumping or not losing. I had a friend that did the same thing, she has lost more weight than me...yes, it bothers me but it was not my place to put her in check. She will figure it out when she does not get the results she wants or feels like crap.

Eeeks, that doesn't sound like much fun! I think I'd just be quiet and if anyone says anything, just say something about how you have followed a different diet plan and cannot eat those things. It's not your job to get her on the right track ... she has to make those decisions herself. Good luck! Deanna

There are those that suceed and those that fail. It is not your job to police them.. It has to come from inside themselves. When she fails she has only herself to blame. If she says anything to you.. just tell her you do it differently.. offer suggestions if she asked if she doesnt.. let it go.

no one can make choices for 'others', they make their own choices. what works for one, may not work for another. she is a grownup and has the right to succeed or fail on her own. several months ago when I was newly post op I had lots of well meaning advice. I took the good, left the bad, and forgot 90% of it. someone even freaked me out with all kinds of dire recommendations. I followed my heart and even my own Dr advice and survived nicely. just be supportive and answer questions honestly. best you can do.

I think everyone has said it very well!! Did your friend have the same surgeon? You could always say differetn docs have different plans if your other co workers ask you why she's eating what she is
