MY husband has decided to have WLS !

Last night after my bike ride, my husband and I were talking and he has decided to have the RNY as well ,with Dr. Powell ! Anthony says he feels the time has come for him to do this for his health and his family,my sweet husband says I have been a great example and a hero for him with my own journey (awwwwwwwwww)! and he has even made arrangements already to go to a lecture tomorrow night in pasadena! I am so proud! Heather

Thats great! My husband and I started out with both of us going to have it done..He got okayed and I got denied. That was in '03 when he had his done and did wonderful! I was so jealous and depressed watching him shrink and me eating more!! Finally after 2 denials~~ last year I was okayed and just 1 day after yours I had my surgery... I feel great and am losing,but not as much as I'd like to be right now,but everyone loses at different rates. Guess its not a race!! Congrats!

It's great to hear how proud you are of your husband. You have obviously been an inspiration to him. We all reach the point in our lives when we are ready (or not) for WLS at different times, and I'm glad for you both. You will now be able to help him, with all your hindsight, without it being a competition between you both as to who looses the fastest Let us know how he gets on
