Fresh Start

I did alot of thinking this weekend. I know I posted a few days ago about period issues. Well I had all of my "pms" issues 2 weeks ago and then did not start my period. I continued to have all those horrible cravings and bouts of depression for another week. I finally started Saturday night and its amazing what that can do for a person. First of all the cycle is really heavy and I'm having horrible back pain and cramps BUT my mood, resolve, even determination is sooo much better today. I really don't have much of an appetite (such a drastic change from the past 2 weeks of nonstop "head" hunger). I just wanted to share! Now clear of all that messy horomonal crap I'm planning to start the plateau buster plan (i refuse to do another diet in my life) tomorrow. I'm heading to the grocery store this afternoon. I plan to buy only what is on the list and throw out all the other crap when I get home (being single i have no excuses to keep junk in my house!!!). Here's the "plan" for anyone who wants to try this for 10 days :D Happy Monday, Mandy Here is the Plateau Buster Diet some use to get going again. Be sure and check with your doctor first... Plateau Buster #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day (some suggest at least 60 and up to 80 gr) #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?) peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda (no sodas for me!!!!) sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!

Hi Honey! I'm so proud of you. I'm on day 4 of Andi's low carb lifestyle and the scale is moving again, certainly not like it did at the beginning, but really how long can we expect to lose like that? I am very hungry lately but then i've upped my exercise, not hard when i was doing zero the past (3) months. I shoveled and salted my whole driveway this morning (it's only 9am now) and i'm starving, so i had a cheese stick and i'm going to have some unstuffed cabbage. Hugs, ANDI

*sigh* it does work, i'm proof. The scale hasn't moved since November, although that's not true i've been losing the same 3-4 pounds for weeks now. Today is day 4 of Andi on low carbs and the scale actually moved lower, I am thrilled, i wasn't sure if that was the end of the line for me but i didn't want it to be. I want to reach my surgeons goal and i've got 21lbs left to do that. I'll get there eventually, slow and steady wins the race. ANDI

Good luck Mandy! That sounds hard! I have a couple questions ... it says to have 45 grams of protein supplements. Is that in addition to the other food you can eat? Deanna

I think so but if I take in 3 oz of protein 5 times a day thats 105g of protein. As long as I get in 60+ I'm not going to fret. My biggest goal is to detox of all the dang carbs in my system.

UGH! No, I didn't make it to the grocery store yesterday, BUT I had a much better day yesterday. I brought totally "on plan" things for today (even though not totally low carb :Atkins bar and crab stew). I just feel so much better about all of this. Thanks for the support!
