Anyone Miss Me?
Thought I would drop in and let everyone know I was doing OK.
I had surgery on Monday (the 19th) to have my pituitary tumor removed. It went REALLY well. My surgeon thinks he got about 99% of it removed. I'm home now for 4-6 weeks and feeling pretty good already. Pretty congested - but my headaches and vision problems are already clearing up.
I'll go through a million blood tests and CTs and MRIs over the next few months and will have to monitor my condition for the rest of my life to make sure it doesn't grow back - but for now the outlook is good.
I am SO HAPPY to have it behind me. The fear of having "brain surgery" was more then I could bare for the past month or so and I TOTALLY leaned on my old friend food. Sure - I couldn't QUITE "binge" the way I used to - but I certainly ate frequently and was NOT making the right choices. I know it's only been a week since surgery but I mentally I don't feel like coping with food all day. Mentally I know I am ready to get back in the game. I'm not really logging in fitday but I am really watching it and back to my small portions. I do have to eat at least 6 times a day with all of the meds I am on in order to keep from getting a tummy ache. But I have been making good choices.
Hopefully I'll be back in the game with you all 100% soon. Finally maybe I can report a loss again - it's been 4 months since I have lost even 1 lb - but now that hopefully my body has stopped producing all of the extra human growth hormone and I will stop coping with food - I can work this tool again.
I hope all is well with everyone!!!
I am so happy to see everything went fine. Yes I was wondering how u were doing. We got a lot going on on the boards so jump right in. I know u have to be feeling better now that that is over with and you are on you way back to a healthier you. Hope to see you posting more often now.. Again.. so glad to hear you are doing so well...
I missed you! Are they going to use radiation to get the last 1% or will they just monitor it for additiona growth? Amy we all go back to what we know, the comfort from food. There aren't that many of us here that are 100% committed to this anymore. I'm carb addicted, yesterday was my first day on a lower carb diet since the holidays and it already made the scale move (in addition to a dance class) so maybe i've hit on the secret for me! Now that you are back and better then ever we'll start Fresh with you. You just tell us how we can help you, do you want to join the "on track" team with us, ask Carla more about it, it's her baby. We answer questions every day, that's pretty fun (carla calls it QOTD) tell us what we can do for you. hugs, andi

It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo good to see you back. I'm glad the surgery went well. Be kind to yourself - you've been on a tough journey the last couple of months. I'm sure your weight will drop like a stone once you start focussing on it. I bet it will be like when you were first out as your body has had a rest and not got into the routine like ours have.
How are things at home - settling into your new home, new job, etc.??? Have your employers been understanding?
