gave up chips for lent
This is sad to admit but I still LOVE salty tortilla chips. And sadly, I tolerate them well. So while I was reflecting about my poor choices, and thinking about lent I decided to break the habit and give them up. Now Ive said it and will be held accountable. Hold me accountable folks!!!Typing this is a brave front for what I feel inside which is a voice saying, "how are you going to stick with this promise?" And also, "you want them, you know you do". Dear Lord, help me!
But there/here..wherever -Im going to try. Im going to try. Im going to succeed? Im going to try!!!!!!
Kathryn
Hi Kathryn! I want you to remember why you gave them up, it's a sacrifice for your G*D, you aren't doing this for Kathryn, you are doing this for all the oppressed people who have gone before you! Those without the power to choose, without the power to speak, you are their voice, your strength and will to conviction is their strength and will to conviction. You can do this because you're not doing it for you, do it for them. The overweight woman who were beaten because they thought no man would love them, the woman who took menial jobs because they felt that they weren't smart enough to overcome their fat image. The woman who wouldn't allow someone to love them properly or fully and who couldn't love others that way because she was afraid they'd make fun of her she doesnt' have many friends, she's kept to herself trying to fly under the radar so no one would see how heavy she's gotten....Kathryn it's that woman you are giving up those chips for lent for, now go forth and make me proud. You may want to fall off that horse but keep your eyes on the prize sister, it's not that long a journey for you and at the end OH the things you'll have accomplished.
ALL that for chips, just imagine what you can do! Hugs, ANDI
