Right side pain

It started around midnight last night and woke me up throughout the night.....it's pain that comes in waves on my right side - goes around the back and down into the groin area. Not sure what's going on.....called the surgeon this morning and they just called me back. They want to see me this afternoon. Nurse thinks it's could be my gallbladder. Ugh. On the other hand, with my luck, they won't find anything and I'll feel stupid for making a big deal out of nothing. Sigh.

My first guess would be your gallbladder too. When I read your description of what you're feeling, that is instantly what I thought because that is the same way I felt when I was having gallbladder problems. I had mine removed years ago though and what a huge relief once it was gone! Don't feel stupid ... it's worth getting it checked out. I remember feeling stupid when I went to my doctor about mine too because at the time I went in, I was feeling fine. But every once in awhile a wave would come over me and I'd feel horrible. Turns out I had a big gallstone blocking my bile duct and they yanked that sucker right out of there! Let us know what you find out! Deanna

Thanks Deanna! We'll see what they say this afternoon....it's just strange (to me) that it came on really suddenly in the middle of the night like that and has been pretty constant since. Can't say that I've really had any pain there before now, at least that I can remember. And of course, yesterday was a bigger food day for me.....I go in spurts like that. Normally I can't get in the amount of food they want me to on a daily basis but every now and then, I feel like I eat non stop and that was yesterday. Which would sort of make sense, I guess, if it is the gallbladder - maybe it's angry at me since I consumed a bit more food that what I normally do (i'm only talking maybe 6-8 ounces more of food than I normally do). Who knows...I'm at least glad they can see me today while I'm still having the pain instead of next week, when it would probably be gone. And if it is the gallbladder and it needs to be removed......wondering if they can do a tummy tuck at the same time?!?! Can't blame a girl for at least trying! LOL
