problem with... diarrhea

OK so here goes... I have been wanting to post this but just not so comfortable w/ the topic. But to help liven things up, I pledged to post and thought I would just put it out there. I have never had a problem w/ the #2, but the past few days things just aren't quite right. Since my surgery I have been pretty regular and actually haven't really noticed a big change from prior to surgery. This weekend however... was a different story. I must have went #2 at least 6-8 times on Saturday alone. I didn't have anything different to eat I don't think. So I have a case of diarrhea, but it isn't going away... anyone have any suggestions? Have you had any changes in this department? I have been trying to eat more fiber, but that doesn't seem to be helping at all. Kristen

sugar acholhol gives me that problem.. I eat of a bowl of sf ice cream when I need to go.. I know tmi.. but its true. There is a bug going around right now that may be causing that problem.. I dont pretend to know the answer, but if you havent changed anything it could be that. You mentioned saturday but not sunday or monday.. has the problem resolved. If it has it could of been that bug. I would watch it.. if it continues you should call your pcp.. there are a lot of nasty bugs out there that can do that as well. I ate at a place a couple months before surgery and got a nasty bug and ended up in the hospital because of diarrhea.. so it can be a bad thing.. increase your fluids as well so you dont get dihydrated. thats never good either. Dont wait to long if it continues like that.. go to the doctor.. they cant test you but most test take 3 days and thats 3 more days than you want to continue doing this.. good luck and i hope this helps

very few things will get #2 moving, I usually resort to lactose to get it moving. If I do not go once every 7 days, I will 'motivate' with 8 oz shot of chocolate milk. usually works. I have not had the other problem with too loose, you are very fortunate IMO.
