Oh my gosh, I am shaking like a leaf right now! You all might remember one of my goals for this year is to run a half marathon, right? So I thought, what better way to train for it than to sign up for a 5K race! This morning I signed up for a 5K race on April 15th! Am I nuts or what???? I've started running on the treadmill at the gym and the most I've done is almost 2 miles. And a 5K is about 3 miles so I have to get my butt in gear to get ready for this. I'm so scared and nervous! I would NEVER had thought about doing this a year ago when I weighed over 300 pounds! But I'm committed now ... I'm going to run a 5K race in April!!!!! AHHHH! Deanna

How funny....I just did the same thing! I signed up for a 5K on April 1st! I am not a runner so I started training yesterday. Doesn't help that it's the world's fastest 5K where many World Records have been set! I found a pretty good beginner training schedule on-line...forgot the address but it was titled "training to run a 5K if you've never run before" or something similiar. Good Luck and WE can do it!!!! Hi Trish! That is soooooo cool! I can't believe we both signed up for 5ks! How funny! I also printed off a training chart and I start that next week. It's something similar I'm sure ... it's for 5ks for beginners. Hopefully it'll help! Good luck to you! Let me know how you're doing!!! Deanna

Deanna - I did a 5K in December - It was so much fun - I did not run the whole thing, but just doing 5K was an accomplishment. Last April I wasn't able to complete a one mile walk. It was one of my wow moments. Enjoy Gaye

Very cool. You are more ambitious than I am! I can't even imagine half a marathon. I am going to do a 5K, but I am waiting until Labor day to give me more time. I walk/run 5K at the gym about 4 days a week, but can only run for 15 minutes of the 45 it takes me to complete. Good luck. we are cheering for you!
