No Number Goals

Do you have any goals that are unrelated to the numbers you see on the scales or clothing sizes? I get so hung up on those numbers... One of my goals was to get off all medication related to health issues from my weight. I have reached that goal. Now I need to think of some more 'no number goals' to focus on and aim for.

I wanted to get off all my medications as well. I have in a way reached that goal. I am off all my medications except for my psoriasis medications and arthitisis. Thats big because I was taking 9 pills a day. I am now taking one set of pills a week, one pill a day and my regular remecade infusion every 6 weeks. another goal was to get rid of my sleep apnea machine. As you know I failed my sleep study so I still have to wear it... darn but at least I'm healthier. Another goal was to ride a bike again. I have reached that goal and it so special to me to do that again. I wanted to be more active with my kids. I have reached that goal as well. I am able to do a lot more with them, play with them, they have room to sit on my lap again. Another goal was to be able to walk around and not get winded or have my back hurt. I have reached that goal for the most part. I can run and have fun with my kid. My back sometimes hurts but not nearly as bad as before. I know it's from the arthitisis. So I have reached a lot of no number goals this year and I am so happy for that.

I have a few goals this year! I want to ride a roller coaster with no fear that I won't fit. I want to take my kids on hikes and not fear that i won't make it. I would like to start a support group by my house for other WLS folks so we can talk and laugh and generally help one another. I am chock full of goals now that my confidence is back. Hugs, ANDI

I want to be able to run. I have always wanted to run - no in a marathon or anything just run like Forrest Gump . I want to get off of my hypertension, asthma, and acid reflux medication. Phenom

To fit into size 16 misses/14 women's by Christmas - Done Go to a Dallas Cowboys game and be able to sit in the seat.. comfortably - Done Not have to wear a seat belt extender on an airplane - haven't flown yet, but pretty confident I don't need one and can sit with the arm rests down without cutting off circulation to my legs. Also pretty confident the tray can come down and won't hit my legs or my belly. Not have to worry about whether or not I'll fit in the seats or booths at restaurants - Done To fit into a size 12 misses by my one year anniversary To be able to cross my legs like a lady - Done and every bit I lose now makes the leg crossing even more sweet!

How are the cowboys doing this year? Oh yes, i'd forgotton about the tray on the planes. Can't wait to fly again to see how much room I've got between my 'smaller' belly and the tray, and each side of my legs...I'm excited about that now.

Well, the Cowboys were knocked out of the playoffs first time out. The Christmas game against Philly was pathetic. They had a few good games after the changed quarterbacks, but the last three games were sad. Oh well, I will always be a Cowboy fan though. One of my first dates with my husband was to a game, so it's sentimental to me. You know, this morning I was riding the elevator and had my ankles touching and I don't think my knees were touching each other. It was weird!! What would be a nice non weight goal is to have a space between my thighs!!!

Are weddings seasonal in Texas? We are gearing up here in New York for wedding season (end of April through beginning of July) and that means they've got bridal shows out the wazoo! I'm not sure if it works like that in Texas but give that some thought. Good luck and I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT. ANDI

January and August are bridal show months. and spring is definitely the wedding time, Mar/Apr/May. however, I do weddings begrudgingly and am first and foremost a child photographer. 90% of my clientèle are 4weeks to 4 years. so the bridal season does not affect me. my two seasons are holiday portraits and easter portraits. so Mar/Apr/May and Oct/Nov/Dec are my two seasons. I just need to pull in 3 new Mom's Day Out programs to give me a boost.
