Compliments
My sister came to stay last night. We haven't seen each other since my surgery, which she knows about.
She thought I looked amazing which was great but the best was when she said 'you're not the biggest in the family anymore... I am', and then gave me a great big hug.
I HAVE always been the biggest out of my 3 sisters and me - me being the youngest, and it had been worrying me how the dynamics would change once I wasn't anymore. So it was such a relief when although the position has changed and she now has that 'unoffical title', she was so pleased for me.
Now to face my other 2 sisters. I'm still not down to their size yet, but I wonder what will happen when I am...hmmm...watch this space.
I know that is such a great feeling for you.
I was the largest in my immediate family (heavier than my dad 5'9 and 250 and my older brother 6'0 270..I was 332 before surgery) Now I'm only heavier than my mom and my oldest brother. My sister was down visiting and wanted to something to wear. She couldn't wear MY clothes because they were TOO little for her! I was shocked really because I'm so used to being the one who can't "swap" clothes because I'm the BIG one.
So congrats! Enjoy it!

Hi Ruth!
That is SOOOOO cool that your sister gave you such a great compliment! It must have been a wonderful feeling that she was happy for you!
I am the youngest of 5 girls and not one of my sisters asks me how I'm doing or anything. They never ask how much weight I've lost and they never compliment me on how I look. It makes me terribly sad. I was always the largest before surgery and now I'm probably tied for the smallest with one other sister. It makes me feel very awkward around them ... if they would just say "you're looking great" or ask how much weight I've lost, at least then I would know they care. But right now it feels like they don't.
Anyway, I am really glad that your sister made you feel comfortable in your new position!!!
