Are you at or close to your goal weight?
I started at 332. My doctor's goal for me is 155. Which would be a total of 177 pounds to lose. I have lost 105. So I am 72 pounds away from my goal. 72 pounds could seem daunting but heck I've lost 105 pounds already so I KNOW I will reach goal.
I hope to reach goal by August 3rd (my birthday which would be almost 15 months out). I will need to lose 2 pounds a week to make that happen. I think its totally doable.
Anyway I'll quit rambling. 105 lost and 72 pounds to goal.

I am 20 pounds from surgeon's goal of 135.
I am 26 pounds from my personal goal of 129.
I am wearing size 8's and 10's pants, med (and some small!!) tops.
I am not taking any prescription meds. I take vitamins, (chewables, b12 sublingual, calcium) and a baby aspirin everyday.
I was taking 9 prescription meds a day this time last year and was so close to having to take injectable insulin that they made me take it in the hospital after my surgery in may.
I feel so great that I don't even feel like the same person as I did last year at this time.
So, in the most important ways, I have already met my goals!!

Thanks Deb
You have reminded me that setting out on this journey, my main goal was to improve my health. I have met and gone beyond this goal - I was on prescription meds - diabetes was out of control, amongst other things.
The only tablets I take now are vitamins. I have increased energy so am no longer exhausted ALL the time. I can run around with my daughter and still am able to breath. I can bend over and still breath. I can sit down on the florr and get up again. I no longer have to worry whether a chair will hold me or if I will fit into a booth seat or an airplane seat.....the list could go on.
So, Yes, I am at my goal
You've reminded me too about what is most important about this journey - - improved health.
I usually don't even read these posts because I am amazed (and a little depressed) at how quickly so many other people have lost huge amounts of weight. I've lost 71 since my surgery on May 25th - - I'm happy about it but its a lot less than most of the others on this board.
I have had problems getting my thryoid medication adjusted, it was just raised again for the third time since my surgery. My PCP feels that's the reason for my slow loss and long stalls because I'm following all the rules and doing everything right. I haven't put one grain of sugar (in any form) into my mouth, I still weigh and measure my food, I eat 5 small meals a day, I am diligent about protein and vitamins, my carbs come mostly from vegetables and fruit, and I can count the slices of bread I've eaten since surgery on one hand.
Its hard to read about others eating candy (not flaming, just observing) and still losing 100+ pounds in the same amount of time!!!!
So thanks for reminding me that it really is about good health. I'll try and stop stressing about the numbers.

I started my journey at 262 and as of Thursday, I am 177. 85 lbs gone forever.
I am 17 lbs away from my surgeons goal of 160 and 37 lbs away from my goal of 140.
At my initial meeting with my surgeon, he said 100 lbs by 9 months. Looks like I just may do it!
At this point, I am very happy at how I feel and look so any further weight loss will be fine!
Hugs,
Lisa
