Resturants
okay, so here we all are. 6 months out or better. what do you do?
yesterday I went to Jason's deli. I usually get the soup/salad bar. this time I just got SOUP.
the waitress said JUST SOUP?
I said JUST SOUP!
the world stopped spinning for a 1/4 of a second. all the atomic clocks are now off.
I got JUST SOUP.
it was only $3.49, which is 3x what I pay for Wendy's chili, and I got JUST SOUP.
I hate waste. I hate ordering more than I will eat. I hate paying for more than I would eat. and I really do not like carting home a doggie bag, to slowly decay in my fridge before I have the good sense to through it away.
so I got JUST SOUP.
I am sure it will get easier on the wait staff the more I do it.
btw I got Spicy Tortilla soup. wow. that was a change of pace. had some zing to it. my old taste buds have been on auto pilot for 8 months, so this was a wakeup call for them as well. no more bland chicken breast. well okay, so I had bland chicken breast for dinner. but we are venturing into new territory.

Oh my gosh, the same thing happened to me this past weekend! My husband and I went to Red Robin and I ordered a bowl of Chicken Tortilla soup. The waiter goes "Is that it???" He also about passed out when I told him I didn't want anything to drink. "Are you sure, not even some ice water?" Ugh! I just smiled and said "Nope, I'm positive!" And he acted like I was a space alien or something!
I have a hard time eating out ... I don't like wasting all that food and I can't eat things reheated very well. I just try to stick to soups but there are a lot of restaurants that only serve split pea ... yuck! Ha, ha!

I had been avoiding restaurants like the plaugue but we went to Red Robin last week too!! WEIRD!!! It is pry the first sit down place I have been two in 3 months.
I got the lettuce wrapped carb burger and swapped out for a BOCA Patty. It was yummmmmmo - and it came with a small salad. I ate way too much and felt "gurgly" afterwards but I was happy I didn't have a carb coma afterwards or too many cals really!
I eat out allot because of my husbands job we are always going to some dinner.
One time the place had only steak ( which I can still not eat) (they ran out of fish ) so they made a big scene about eating something so they brought me potatoes and creamed spinach. And the desert. And when I did not eat they came and made a fuss about if the food was bad. I finally got my husband and we excused our selves and left.
Another time was at the OH conference in Ft Lauderdale. My husband and I went out to dinner and ordered one meal. They refused to serve us one meal so we told them charge us for two meals and just bring one. They refused stating that they had to bring two... so we gave them 20.00 and left.
oh man, so far the restaurants that I have been too have not had the stupidity to tell me no to one dinner, two plates. can you imagine the stink I would have thrown? now Jason's Deli has refused to sell me a child's meal, and that really did torque me off, but I am okay now with paying for adult portion and just leaving the left overs.
Yea, me too.... I do make a stink and my husband OMG!
He went to West Point and is very much "joe comander"....LOL
he threw the $20.00 down at the guy and said here I guess you guys are hard up for business and we walked out....LMAO.... Most of the time I get my own dinner and bring the leftovers home for him the next day or eat off the appetizer list.
Ruby Tuesdays is very nice about giving me exactly what I want....I usually take my grandbaby with me and we split a meal....I usually order the petite sirloin...very tender and delicious and it comes with steamed broccoli and baked potato. My grandbaby eats some of the steak and broccoli and most of the baked potato...they are huge. And she gets the salad bar too....She is 4 and a huge veggie eater. Both of us are stuffed by the time we leave there and they bring me my drink at the end in a to go cup for me to take with me.
